For me, it was a revelation to read what I found in this topic, and I am glad that this information, this knowledge, is finally within me. I am grateful to you, Teacher! (Although I have already been listening to SB for the third time around, this completely passed me by.)

I read all the replies... I have nothing to add.... I only remembered that Zeus was suckled by the goat AMALTHEA. The last syllable, "THEA," means "GODDESS" (in Greek).
And another amusing thought came to me.... When I was a child, I stayed with relatives in the countryside and watched them milk their beloved cow. She had such kind and intelligent eyes, and there was such a warm and cozy feeling emanating from her that I was not afraid at all of this large creature, which in the city I had only seen as an image. I wanted to stroke her all the time and talk to her.... And I had a question then: "Aunt Galya has only two hands! Why does Zorka have four teats to receive milk from her?" I asked the adults, but never got an answer.... And now it has surfaced again in connection with this topic.... It occurred to me that in the Hindu tradition there are many-armed deities, VISHNU, for example. There is nothing superfluous in nature. This is why ancient temples were built to enormous heights, since the deities were giants, and so on. Perhaps this animal's unusual udder is saying something about that. I don't know whether other herbivores have so many.... And the number "4" also has symbolic significance for humanity. There are the 4 elements, the 4 cardinal directions, the 4 forms of sacred beings among the Jews, and the 4 Universes governed by a single Creator in the divine Hierarchy of the Alny Worlds, one of which is ours..., and so on.
I found a lot of interesting things on Google. "A fairy tale is a lie, but there is a hint in it..."—that is what I mean about the essence of myths. I am more familiar with Greek mythology. And the deeper I immersed myself in this topic, the more I began to understand my human essence and the structure of the world. The encoded information in ancient texts is a treasure trove of wisdom and transcendent Knowledge, which one can touch on the subtle plane—every word vibrates at a special frequency. My mind's initial reaction was wrong—fairy tales and so on.
Here, at the School, thanks to the Teacher's Creativity, I have made many discoveries for myself regarding the essence of ancient messages, which He adapts to our perception (more truthful in its completeness, multidimensional and volumetric...) and it is precisely through Amazing states and subsequent "unpackings" in the Bodies that it penetrates more deeply into your essence and is harmoniously integrated through a kind of inner awareness (bypassing the mind), becoming yours forever.
Thank you, Teacher, for Everything!!! ☀ ✨ 💫 🙏🙏🙏

Sacred means created for the comprehension of the divine, for connection with the spiritual world,
dedicated to serving God.
Understanding and awareness of this come to us, for example, through ancient scriptures via Teachers.

Today I do not know the exact answer to the question: "Why is the Cow a sacred animal?",
and I very much want to hear the Teacher's answer.

When this topic was opened, memories from my childhood immediately began to come to me,
and they are far from reverence for the cow. In the large household of my dearly beloved ancestors,
cows and calves appeared and disappeared...
At some point, when I was an infant, I suddenly refused to drink cow's milk.
And for a long time afterward I could not stand it (especially fresh milk). It seemed like something dirty to me.
Sacred/Divine Knowledge is hidden.
I am crying. Right now, as I write this.
Conscious consumption of milk returned during the years when I discovered the OM Shanti resources
and stopped eating meat.
But again, over time, it became impossible to find healthy milk in the big city.
So for now, I am once again without this blessing.

Like many others, from childhood I heard: "Drink milk, children...", "The cow is our mother and provider",
"One cannot live on earth without a cow"..., as well as women being compared to cows.

I remembered how my son asked how to understand whether a girl was kind or not,
how to choose. And the first thing I thought to say was: "Her eyes should be like a cow's—the kindest,
wisest eyes in the world".

Naturally, I thought of Lord Krishna, who showed his love and care for cows,
of Shiva and his bull Nandi,
of ancient Egypt—the image of a goddess with cow's horns (Y) on her head
(Hathor. It turned out that she was sometimes depicted with cow's ears.),
of the gifts of the cow (milk, clarified butter (GHI), yogurt, dung, and urine),
that is, of this animal's exceptional usefulness.

So it seems that this is more than enough to say that the Cow is a sacred animal.

I thank OM Shanti for this interesting and very informative topic!
The answers from the students of Mahapurna School, who possess far greater knowledge than I currently do, are incredible and amazing! Namaste to everyone—so many new and interesting facts have been revealed to me about transitions between worlds and the Milky Way.
I can add an image that immediately appeared when I thought of the cow: the cow from the fairy tale about Khavroshechka—enter through one ear and come out through the other! This is that very channel between worlds!
I also remembered scenes from the Mahabharata—those showing episodes from Krishna's childhood, his sweet pranks involving ghee and other milk products.
I can also add the fact that OM Shanti has mentioned repeatedly: milk is a special product that makes it possible to build subtler bodies for a human being.
🙏 🙏 🙏

In India and Nepal, the cow is considered a sacred animal. This belief, rooted in the distant past, comes from the Hindu religion. It is connected with the legend that every cow contains a small part of Surabhi, the cow who fulfilled any wish. Thus, those who manage to ask the cow very well may also receive her help in fulfilling a wish. Echoes of these legends can be found in the Russian folk tale “Kroshechka-Khavroshechka.” There is a belief that one can enter the higher (heavenly) worlds by holding on to a cow’s tail while crossing a river (symbolizing difficult trials). There is also a myth that one of the most revered gods, Shiva, emerged from a cow’s ear, and that his animal is Nandi the bull. In India, cows are protected on an equal footing with people. If someone harms this animal, they can be punished by law.

🙏 As soon as I saw this topic, I seriously started thinking about it. It became very interesting to me. From time to time, I came across the expression that the cow is a sacred animal. But why the cow in particular? I had never thought about it. I simply always assumed that it had something to do with Indian tradition. There is no doubt that the cow is a special animal. I have many warm childhood memories involving cows. When I visited my grandmother and grandfather in the village during my summer holidays, I especially liked watching my grandmother milk the cow in the evening. She would hold out a mug, and milk would stream into it—warm, with foam on top. I remember it very clearly. And that rough tongue, too.) A few years ago, I was in a severe depressive state. At that time, I had a couple of unpleasant dreams. But there were bulls in them. Perhaps I will be able to find the answer here—to understand what those dreams about bulls were about. 🙏

Many thanks to all the students for your answers—I personally found it incredibly interesting to read them! Especially since I have nothing to say myself 😔 Well, I don't know why the cow is a sacred animal; I don't even have a clue 🥺 Unlike many people here, I haven't studied the Sacred Texts (which I honestly admit). Although even I had heard that the cow is sacred. Like 5 5557778 , I also thought it was part of Hindu tradition and connected with India's Divine Pantheon. But since this topic was opened, I have been thinking about it for several days now, and I see that there is more to it than that.

Somehow, I remembered that in the past, people were considered wealthier the more cows they had. In other words, wealth was measured specifically in cows. Not goats (although they also give milk, which is considered healing), nor other domestic animals (apart from, perhaps, horses, though that was more relevant to nomadic tribes).

Other animals also give milk and feed their young, and their milk is likewise nutritious and healing in its own way, but for some reason these other animals are not considered sacred. Why? Perhaps cow's milk differs significantly in composition from other kinds of milk, making it more universally suitable for other species? This is only a supposition; I don't know for certain.

A childhood observation. When I was a child, my grandfather would take my brother, sister, and me to a field where cows grazed. What I remember most is the complete, impenetrable calm of these animals. They almost never mooed; they phlegmatically chewed grass and lazily swished their tails to drive away flies. Even when the herder urged them on and led them away from the field, they showed no aggression or displeasure. The most peace-loving creatures imaginable! It was as if there wasn't a gram of anger in them (I mean cows specifically, not bulls). Instead, there was simply an ocean of patience and acceptance. Maybe that is why they are sacred?

I would be very interested to read the Teacher's answer 🙏:giggle:

Oh, wonderful. I had thought about this subject at one point, but I didn't look for a specific answer. These were my thoughts:

The samskaras of a living being are a complicated matter. Even devas (higher beings) can have dark, animal karma. And that means it needs to be somehow worked out. I imagined it this way: the cow is an ideal animal for a highly evolved soul with few remaining obstacles to liberation to work off negative karma. After all, the cow is one of the few animals that spends its entire life in service, and because milk fat can also help develop human mental faculties, this service may even be spiritual in nature. An extraordinary combination arises—the body and mind of an animal, yet the capacity for spiritual service. That is what makes the cow such a special animal.

Mentions of cows appear in many sacred scriptures.
And not only among Vaishnavas, Shaivites, and so on. If we were to list and quote all these mentions, we would need to write a great many posts. :)
And this, at the very least, is evidence that the cow is a sacred animal and of its importance to all living beings.

The cow is part of the Supreme Being:

SB 10-04-41
Brahmins, cows, Vedic knowledge, austerity, truthfulness, mastery of the mind and senses, faith, compassion, patience, and sacrifices are parts of Lord Vishnu’s body, and religious civilization rests upon them.

A part of the Supreme Being is holy and sacred by definition.

SHORT STORIES
ABOUT THE GLORY OF THE MOTHER COW.
THE STORY OF SURABHI
One day, answering Narada’s question, Lord Narayana said that Surabhi, who lives in Goloka, is the original mother of all cows. She is the source of all cows. Surabhi was the first to appear in Vrindavan. One day, Sri Radha Krishna, accompanied by many gopis, went to the forest of Vrindavan. They stopped in a secluded place. Suddenly Krishna desired to drink milk. Immediately, by His will, He manifested the cow Surabhi from His left side. Her udder was full.
Her calf was named Manoratha. Sudama, who was there, began to milk her. The milk was like nectar and had the power to destroy birth and death. Krishna, who is the lord of the gopis, personally drank this milk. Suddenly the pitcher slipped from His hands, fell, and broke. All the milk spilled onto the ground and took the form of a lake. The lake was one hundred yojanas wide and one hundred yojanas long.
This lake is known in Goloka as Kshira-sarovara. It became the main place for Sri Radha and the other gopis, where they enjoyed their pastimes. All four sides of the lake were decorated with various precious stones. By Krishna’s desire, countless Kamadhenu cows immediately appeared. The same number of gopis appeared from the pores of the cows’ bodies. These cows had many calves. Thus, by Surabhi’s mercy, all cows were created and filled the entire universe.
At that time, Lord Krishna personally worshiped the cow Surabhi. From that moment, cow worship has continued in this world. The next day (Diwali), Surabhi was worshiped by Krishna’s order.
The Lord said: “O fortunate one, Surabhi should be worshiped and meditated upon. The six-syllable mantra for worshiping Surabhi is: Om Surabhyai namaha. If a person chants this mantra one hundred times, they will attain perfection and all their desires will be fulfilled. I also worship the goddess Surabhi, who grants enjoyment, intelligence, and liberation, who is the form of Lakshmi, Radha’s companion, and the chief deity of cows. She can purify everything. Surabhi should be worshiped while meditating on her as being present in a pitcher, in the head of a cow, in the post used to tether a cow, in a shalagrama-shila, in water, and in fire. Above all, the cow should be worshiped on Diwali. Whoever worships the cow becomes worthy of worship in this world.”

Bible, Old Testament, Chapter 66, verse 3

Cows of all kinds and colors are always worthy of worship. They are the most important beings in all creation. In the morning and evening, a person should bow their head in deep reverence before cows. Under no circumstances should one treat a cow disrespectfully; one should always show them respect. When a person wakes in the morning, they should always remember the cows. Before going to sleep at night, they should always remember the cows. Cows are always auspicious. Cows also have a pleasant scent.
Killing an ox is the same as killing a human being

Here is another verse from the Vedic scriptures about all deities being present in the cow.

sarve devah sthita dehe
