OM Shanti, so matsoni is a mildly alcoholic product too?
There’s nothing that can be done about it—bacteria produce alcohol. It is also produced in our bodies every day.
Alcohol is a product of bacteria.
Alcohol and carbon dioxide are two products that suppress the growth of various fungi and molds. This can be seen during the fermentation of grapes, for example (wine). As long as it is bubbling with carbon dioxide, no mold will develop.
Alcohol is also used to wipe things down for the same purpose.
That is one of the benefits of kvass, sauerkraut, kefir, and so on.

So, a little earlier I mentioned a product that an Ayurveda professor calls an elixir and practically a panacea for many diseases.

Now you can see how it is made, in case it was still unclear. The professor himself demonstrates it:

Finally, I poured my apple cider vinegar into bottles that are convenient for me!

2021-11-22_22-06-35_347.jpg 2021-11-22_21-43-06_587.jpg 2021-11-22_22-35-23_486.jpg

I started making the vinegar around the middle of September. It took a little over two months. During the last week, I kept wondering whether the vinegar was ready. Today I decided it was. It smells like a rather “calm” vinegar, whereas during the process the smell was somewhat “boisterous,” so to speak.
They say the first pancake is a flop, but I always say: the first flop is a pancake. Though there are still some imperfections—for example, in the jars on the right (the middle photo), the sediment mixed with the vinegar, but after standing, it separated and settled out (the photo on the right).
No matter; next time I’ll have more experience.

In Rus' or among other peoples, people never drank in order to get drunk. This is an entirely new phenomenon, literally only about 200 years old. Compared with the history of evolution spanning millions of years, that is absolutely NOTHING.

Who organized all of this on such a large scale and in such quantities?

To begin with, I should say that wine, kvass, beer, ale, and so on have been drunk since ancient times. And these are medicinal products. No one could even imagine drinking them in order to somehow "get out of their mind."

The only thing we can learn about alcohol in different cultures is that certain Mediums entered a trance. In other words, alcohol was always a substance for communicating with something Beyond.

Just as tobacco, in principle, is a ritual act.

I have been to many villages in the Oryol region. I saw for myself how kvass is made and drunk. Oh, not the kvass sold in your stores. :)
It shocked me too.
Literally, a bucket or a 10–20-liter pot stands on a bench. From time to time, beets, bread crusts, carrots, cabbage... in short, all sorts of similar things are thrown into it.
And any member of the household simply takes a mug and scoops this very kvass from the bucket.

And believe me, that bucket or pot has been standing there for many years already. And all that happens is that new water is poured into it and a new portion of beet pieces is added...

This is a completely different kvass from anything you have ever drunk.

And here I recall an old fairy tale that I liked very much and found astonishing in my childhood.

I will quote an excerpt from it:

Long, long ago, beneath the city of Murom, in the village of Karacharovo, there lived a peasant named Ivan Timofeyevich with his wife, Yefrosinya Yakovlevna.

They had one son, Ilya. His father and mother loved him, but they could only weep as they looked at him: Ilya had lain on the stove for thirty years, unable to move either hand or foot. Ilya was a giant in stature and bright of mind, with keen eyes, but his legs would not carry him; they lay motionless, like logs.

As he lay on the stove, Ilya heard his mother weeping, his father sighing, and the Russian people complaining: enemies were attacking Rus', trampling the fields, killing people, and leaving children orphaned. Robbers roamed the roads and paths, allowing people neither to pass on foot nor to travel by carriage. Zmey Gorynych descended upon Rus' and carried young women away to his lair.

Hearing all this, Ilya grieved and complained about his fate:

— Ah, my useless legs, ah, my powerless arms! If only I were healthy, I would not let enemies and robbers abuse my native Rus'!

And so the days passed, and the months rolled by...

One day, his father and mother went into the forest to pull out stumps and roots, preparing a field for plowing. Ilya lay alone on the stove, looking out the window.

Suddenly, he saw three wandering beggars approaching his hut.

They stood by the gate, knocked with an iron ring, and said:

— Get up, Ilya, and open the little gate.

— You are making cruel jokes, wanderers: I have been sitting helplessly on the stove for thirty years and cannot get up.

— Just lift yourself up, little Ilyushenka.

Ilya strained—and jumped down from the stove. He stood on the floor, unable to believe his own happiness.

— Now, walk a little, Ilya.

Ilya took one step, then another—and his legs held him firmly and carried him with ease.

Ilya was overjoyed and could not utter a word. Then the wandering pilgrims said to him:

— Bring us some cold water, Ilyusha. Ilya brought a bucket of cold water. One of the wanderers poured some water into a ladle.

— Drink, Ilya. This ladle contains the water of all the rivers and lakes of Mother Rus'.

Ilya drank and felt heroic strength within himself. The wandering pilgrims asked him:

— How much strength do you feel in yourself?

— A great deal, wanderers. If I had a shovel, I would plow the whole earth.

— Drink the rest, Ilya. In that remainder is the dew of the whole earth—from green meadows, tall forests, and fertile fields. Drink.

Ilya drank the rest as well.

— And now, how much strength do you have?

— Oh, wandering pilgrims, I have so much strength that, if there were a ring in the heavens, I could seize it and turn the whole Russian land upside down.

— You have too much strength; it must be reduced, or the earth will no longer be able to bear you. Bring some more water.

Ilya went for water, but the earth truly could not bear him: his foot sank into the ground as into a swamp; when he grabbed an oak sapling, the oak came out by the roots; the well chain tore into pieces like a thread.

Now Ilya walked very quietly, yet the floorboards broke beneath him. Now Ilya spoke in a whisper, yet the doors flew off their hinges.

Ilya brought the water, and the wanderers poured him another ladleful.

— Drink, Ilya!

Ilya drank the well water.

— How much strength do you have in you now?

— I have half as much strength.

— Well, that will do for you, fine fellow. You, Ilya, will be a great hero
Yes, water—special water—can work miracles. And in folk villages, people drink kvass. It is very beneficial.

Ivan the Terrible sowed turmoil among us by opening the first taverns in Russia during his reign. In essence, he gave free rein to drunkenness.

Which products should be considered alcoholic?

A frequently asked question.

But it is often answered incorrectly. For example, the same product will affect a man, a woman, and an Eskimo differently.

It is a matter of the body's resistance.

Therefore, we should focus not on the product's strength, but on whether it reaches the body's vital systems.

The brain, for example.

Based on this, kefir is not considered a strong alcoholic beverage.

Because the alcohol in it is maximally diluted.

With kvass, things are not so simple.

Kvass may already be too alcoholic.

For example, if it contains more than 1% alcohol.

That may be normal for a man's body, but not for a woman's.

And let's move further up the scale. For example, cognac.

It needs to be diluted very heavily.

The same applies to wine.

But the quantity must also be taken into account.

You can drink two liters even at 1%, and that will already be a lot.

Therefore, both the quantity and the percentage are important.

Every morning, on an empty stomach, I drink a glass of warm water with a teaspoon of the apple cider vinegar I prepared in the autumn.

2022-02-03_17-22-10_605.jpg

At first, I tried using a tablespoon. But I realized that it was a little too strong for me, so I switched to a teaspoon. Apparently, my vinegar turned out a little stronger than I expected (the video is above).
My family did not support the idea of a morning routine. But the vinegar is used as needed. I like both its taste and its smell. It turned out well.

I have already talked about fermented products in this thread.

And of course, the most common and simplest fermented product, apart from wine, is cabbage.

Naturally, it will also contain a little alcohol, as does any product that contains bacteria.

Ayurvedic wines

You heard correctly: we are literally talking about wines. As people say here, alcoholic ones.

There are two types of Ayurvedic wines:

  1. Arishtas — Your Yoga. Ayurvedic wine. Arishta
  2. Asavas

Arishtas are made from a decoction of dried herbs. Which makes them easier to prepare.
Asavas are made from juice pressed from fresh herbs. Which, accordingly, makes them more difficult to prepare.

Alcohol acts similarly to ethers. By the way, we are all currently taking a free course on ethers — here.
And here is something else I want to tell you in connection with this course.
There is an opinion that if we get rid of fungi, then we should stop eating fungi, including yeast, which are essentially fungi as well.
I will only share my own opinion. I studied Ayurveda and even have diplomas. For me, there is no higher authority than Ayurveda.
There are harmful bacteria too :)
But we do not give up ALL bacteria!
Likewise, we should not give up all fungi. Not all bacteria are bad, and neither are all fungi.
I once watched a film about monks living on Mount Athos. Every day, they had a little of their own wine. And a very long life expectancy. With clear minds.
And they eat bread too. Also made with fungi. No matter how you look at it, fungi are always nearby. Just like bacteria.
It is a symbiosis.
There is even a theory that life on Earth originated from fungi...
Bacteria are ubiquitous, as are fungi. These are two parallel civilizations here on Earth. I have said this more than once. So I am saying it again, for those who have entered the world of the Your Yoga website for the first time.

The most wonderful thing about all this is that you can do it yourself.

Coniferous kvass.
You can drink it together with the course on ethers.

I have been following Regina and Vladimir Kutimsky’s channel for a long time (video above). They write and make many videos about switching to a proper vegetarian diet. There are also videos about meditation. Many things coincide with what Om Shanti writes about (for example, the benefits of plant-based food and distilled water) for successful meditation practice.

Antonio García Docampo drank nothing but wine. Not even water.
He and his son had their own vineyard, where this wine was made.
And they drank it together.
Drinking 1.5 liters of wine at once was normal for him.

Everyone around Antonio told him that he would soon die because the wine would kill him!

And it did indeed kill him at the age of 108!

:)

In 2016.

Antonio García left behind four children, seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

The vineyard is in reliable hands :)
