@4257, that is precisely the point: until the soul reaches a certain level, so to speak, until it has had its fill of earthly pleasures, it will continue to learn earthly lessons. This is not bad; it is how it should be—it is the path of evolution.
@3161, there is no need to judge anyone. Everyone is where they are, and you once thought differently too. Perhaps at one time you did not even like music at all, whereas now you have reached the point you have thanks to the soul’s experience, while others have not yet gained that experience. It is the same within a single lifetime: first nursery school, then kindergarten, and so on.
Surely you would not judge small children for not knowing how to hammer in nails?

I am not judging anyone. If someone wants to live like a child for a long time, that is their own personal free choice. In any case, they alone will suffer because of it.
I myself practice an entirely different Teaching, one that differs greatly from all esoteric teachings. It has no concept of the “age of the soul,” but it does have the concept of “ignorance.” The soul is reborn billions of times and keeps making the same mistakes solely because of ignorance; age has nothing to do with it.

Surely you would not judge small children for not knowing how to hammer in nails?
It all depends on Karma. There are worlds where beings are born with abilities such that hammering in nails is a very simple skill. Receiving a human body and being helpless at the beginning of life—and not only at the beginning, but also at the end and even in the middle of life—is bad Karma. And I believe that such Karma needs to be corrected.

Music is a tool of control, especially in Kali Yuga. When it affects the lower chakras, one kind of perception occurs; spiritual music affects other chakras, producing a different perception. But both kinds of music are necessary for gaining a certain experience for one’s development. When music perceived by the lower chakras can be elevated to the perception of the upper chakras, in my view, this is good work for the soul and a wonderful experience for development.

Of course it needs to be corrected, but that is a strictly personal matter! Surely you do not mean that you can correct someone else’s karma?

The perception of music, preferences for different spheres, and following a path nevertheless depend on many factors: the age of the soul, karma, the soul’s tasks, and the scenario for the incarnation. There are ancient souls whose age is several million or billion years. There are also very young souls. They develop based on the accumulated experience of their soul. It is impossible to bypass metamorphosis and become a butterfly from a caterpillar while skipping the stages of transformation organically.

It is important to understand that you cannot force yourself to listen to the right kind of music.
Elevated music, for example.
Meditation music, instrumental music...

You either like music or you don't.

And in my Ashram, I have explained in detail many times what to do about this.

Not only about music.

About EVERYTHING in general.

Everything can be used as bhakti, as service to God.

And in this regard, something ceases to be good or bad.

Even everything you consider the very best is NOTHING and filth if it is not for God.

But the very worst thing you consider the worst, when done for God, is nectar and the highest of all that is highest...

This understanding does not come immediately. And we cultivate it all together in my Ashram.

For a long time already. Because my Ashram has existed for a long time.

Of course I don't! -) After all, in what I practice, it is considered absolutely impossible to take someone else's bad karma upon oneself, for example. Not even a drop.

I remember how, while still in the Ashram, I realized that every action or thought should be connected with God and intended for Him. And the phrase I heard from OM Shanti, "just think of God," remains like an alarm clock in my mind. Everything that happens, is felt, experienced, heard, or seen—all of it happens through God and for Him. It does not always work out, but the reminder remains.

Thank you for this topic. It may seem like a simple topic, but it reminded me of how I should practice properly and live in general. It reminded me of what I had forgotten. And this is vitally important to me. And I think it is just as important for everyone.

How can this be the worst, yet for God?
Technically, anything can be done poorly from the human point of view, but if it is done for God and in service to God, then it will have the greatest value and power. And such a thing will bring the greatest benefit to other living beings.

Notice how perfectly this topic resonates with what Michael Roach teaches. Do you remember his main explanation about the pen, in which he says that a person sees a pen as a writing instrument, while a dog sees it as a stick to chew? In other words, two different beings see different things in the same object, and this perception depends entirely on each being’s personal karma. The very same object has completely different properties for different beings. The same object may be poison for one, but medicine for another. In short, everything depends on karma. And, of course, karma can be changed if one wishes. There is a similar explanation in one of the practices on the Your Yoga website, where it says that people live in different universes—they may be similar, but they are not identical.

Yesterday I had an insight. I was listening to songs, but something was always missing for my soul to unfold.
And suddenly I remembered these words, Om Shanti, as if a seed cast into the earth had finally sprouted and a shoot had appeared.
(How many more of these seeds of light have yet to sprout... sigh.)
And then I realized that I no longer love purely lyrical songs. I need something more... A different meaning for everything... And I have to create that meaning myself. In short, it is a synergy between listening to music and the context within)))
"I love you more than nature"
I love you more than nature,
For you are nature itself,
I love you more than freedom,
Without you, freedom is a prison!
I love you recklessly,
Like an abyss, not a rut!
I love you more than one can!
More than the impossible, I love you!
I love you senselessly, without end.
Even while drunk, even while being rude.
And more than myself—that is certain.
Even more than simply myself.
I love you more than Shakespeare,
More than all the beauty on earth!
Even more than all the music in the world,
For you are both book and music.
I love you more than fame,
Even in times to come!
More than a rusting empire,
For you are the Motherland, not it!
Are you unhappy? Do you ask for compassion?
Do not anger God with your requests!
I love you more than happiness!
I love you more than love!
I was completely overwhelmed; it was like an atomic flash from within... A flash of happiness and love... This isn't a song of suffering at all—it turns out to be a prayer. How fantastic...!
In short, I have definitely noticed a side effect of the Mahapurna School in myself. A higher taste is developing, and satisfying it is a little more difficult than ordinary hunger. But quenching this thirst is a hundred times more wonderful....
An amaaazing practice.....! Thank you, Teacher!

In Ancient Greece, 7 types of love were distinguished

Eros
. Enthusiastic, passionate infatuation, based primarily on devotion and attachment to the beloved, and only secondarily on sexual attraction. With this kind of love, the person in love sometimes almost begins to worship their beloved. A desire arises to possess them completely. This is love as dependence. The beloved is idealized. But there always comes a period when “one’s eyes are opened” and, accordingly, disappointment in the beloved follows. This type of love is considered destructive for both partners. After the disappointment sets in, the love fades, and the search for a new partner begins.

Ludus. Love as sport, love as a game and competition. This love is based on sexual attraction and is aimed exclusively at obtaining pleasure; it is possessive, consumer-oriented love. In such relationships, a person is more inclined to receive than to give anything to their partner. Therefore, the feelings remain superficial and cannot fully satisfy either partner; there is always something missing in the relationship, and then the search for other partners and other relationships begins. At the same time, the relationship with a regular partner may continue. It is short-lived, lasting until the first signs of boredom appear and the partner ceases to be an interesting object.

Storge. Love as tenderness, love as friendship. With this type of love, the partners are also friends. Their love is based on warm, friendly, mutually supportive relations. This type of love often develops after many years of friendship or after many years of marriage.

Philia. Platonic love, named so because Plato once elevated this particular type of love as true love. This love is based on spiritual attraction; it involves complete acceptance of the beloved, respect, and understanding. It is love for parents, children, best friends, and one’s muse. Plato believed this was the only type of love that was true love. It is unconditional love. Selfless love. Love in its purest form. Love for the sake of love.

In addition, the ancient Greeks distinguished three more types of love, which are combinations of the basic types:

Mania, or, as the ancient Greeks called this type of love, “madness from the gods.” This type of love is a combination of eros and ludus. Love as mania was and is considered a punishment. It is love as obsession. It makes the person in love suffer, and it also brings suffering to the object of their passion. The lover constantly strives to be near their beloved, tries to control them, and experiences intense passion and jealousy. The person in love also experiences emotional pain, confusion, constant tension, insecurity, and anxiety. They are completely dependent on the object of their adoration. After some time of receiving such passionate love, the beloved begins to avoid the lover and attempts to end the relationship, disappear from their life, and protect themselves from the love-obsessed person. This type of love is destructive, bringing ruin to both the lover and the beloved. Such love cannot exist for long, except in sadomasochistic relationships.

Agape. This type of love is a combination of eros and storge. It is sacrificial, selfless love. The lover is ready to sacrifice themselves in the name of love. In such love, there is complete devotion to the beloved, along with their complete acceptance and respect. This love combines mercy, tenderness, reliability, devotion, and passion. In such love, the partners grow together, become better, overcome selfishness, and strive to give more than they take from the relationship. It should also be noted that this type of love can exist between friends, but in that case sexual attraction will be absent; everything else remains. Christianity also speaks of such love—the sacrificial love of one’s neighbor. It lasts a lifetime. But it is very rare.

Pragma. This type of love is a combination of ludus and storge. It is rational, deliberate love, or love based on “calculation.” Such love does not arise from the heart but from the mind; that is, it is born not from feelings but from a conscious decision to love a particular person. This decision is based on rational considerations. For example, “he loves me,” “he takes care of me,” “he is reliable,” and so on. This type of love is self-serving. But it can last a lifetime, and a couple in such a relationship can be quite happy. Pragma can also develop into another type of love over time.

This is to say that we, modern people, often do not even realize or have forgotten what love is. There may be very little of it in life; it has become unnecessary and is being replaced by substitutes. Almost anything is called love, including things that are not love. Popular viral songs, of course, do not sing about all types of love, if it is even worth classifying it that way; they are more often about passion and unrequited expectations. What is bad is that the more talentless the art, the more widely it is broadcast. Performers do it without love, and such “art” is mass-produced as well.

Perhaps the assumption is that this lifts people’s spirits (and should do so alongside other goals), makes them happy, and distracts them from their concerns. In Russia, it seems, people still treat the soundscape mercilessly; it is not even considered a violation when people living together are subjected to it, nor when it comes from the administration of large-scale events.
And a wonderful practice is being proposed.

A great many songs are suitable for this practice.

For example, there are many quite good ones from the Indian repertoire.

For example, this video has already been viewed by 150,000 people on VKontakte:

All you need to do is shift the emphasis to God.

And the words are already ready-made and beautiful:

Composers: Nadeem and Shravan
Lyrics: Sameer
Performers: Udit Narayan, Alka Yagnik

— FEMALE —

Hey hey hey hey hey, aa aa aa aa aa
Hey-hey-hey-hey-hey, aa-aa-aa-aa-aa

Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
I gave my heart to you by falling in love with you

Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
By falling in love with you, by falling in love with you

Dil chura liya maine ikraar karke
Dil chura liya maine ikraar karke
I seem to have stolen your heart by confessing my love

Ikraar karke, ikraar karke
Ikraar karke, ikraar karke
By confessing, by confessing

Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
I gave my heart to you by falling in love with you

Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
By falling in love with you, by falling in love with you

Mere diljaani mere maahi mere dholna
Mere diljaani, mere maahi, mere dholna
My beloved, my darling, my dear one

Koi sun lega zara dheere dheere bolna
Koi sun lega, zara dheere-dheere bolna
Speak more quietly—someone might hear us

— MALE —

Haan, ishq kiya hai maine chori nahin ki hai
Haan, ishq kiya hai maine, chori nahin ki hai
Yes, I have fallen in love—I have committed no crime

Tere sang yaara jora jori nahin ki hai
Tere sang yaara, jora jori nahin ki hai
With you, my friend, I have used neither pressure nor force

— FEMALE —

Chain le liya maine beqaraar karke
Chain le liya maine beqaraar karke
I took away your peace by making you wait

Beqaraar karke, beqaraar karke
Beqaraar karke, beqaraar karke
By making you wait, by making you wait

Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
I gave my heart to you by falling in love with you

Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
By falling in love with you, by falling in love with you

Beech safar mein kahin mera saath chhodke
Beech safar mein kahin mera saath chhodke
If you should leave me somewhere along the way

Tujhko kasam hai naiyyo jaana dil todke
Tujhko kasam hai naiyyo jaana dil todke
Swear to me—don't leave me with a broken heart

— MALE —

Kaise main bataaoon tujhe kaisa mera haal ve
Kaise main bataaoon tujhe kaisa mera haal ve
How can I tell you what I'm going through?

Jeena marna hai sab ab tere naal ve
Jeena marna hai sab ab tere naal ve
Now my life and death are all bound up with you

— FEMALE —

Tujhko paa liya tera intezaar karke
Tujhko paa liya tera intezaar karke
I found you by waiting for you

Intezaar karke, intezaar karke
Intezaar karke, intezaar karke
By waiting, by waiting

Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
Dil laga liya maine tumse pyaar karke
I gave my heart to you by falling in love with you

Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
Tumse pyaar karke, tumse pyaar karke
By falling in love with you, by falling in love with you

And by the way, the song is from the film "Dil Hai Tumhara — I Need ONLY Love"—pure Bhakti Yoga :)
