I know that many people are currently interested in esotericism without spirituality. Magic, for example.
And many people feel that spirituality is some kind of unnecessary burden on their Path—something it would be better to give up. After all, you can simply do certain practices and techniques and get results...
One day I learned that the practice of Surya Namaskar is very different from what "yoga" instructors teach today.
There are mantras. Moreover, in the classical version, half an hour is devoted to prayer to Surya, God, and so on, and only five minutes to the practice itself.
It might seem that we should discard the prayers and do only the exercises. But then it would no longer be Yoga.
Yes, it is even possible to attain supernatural abilities without prayers. But why, then, do these superhuman beings, with all their siddhis and abilities, pray?
Why do they need it?
Perhaps the world has misunderstood something? As always.
I strongly advise those who follow only the path of esotericism to develop their spirituality as well.
I understand that all this looks tempting—do something to develop clairvoyance, spin your chakras, and there you are, a superhuman...
But no "superhuman" has a superhuman lifespan. Sooner or later, the game will end. And you will have done nothing for your soul. Yet it is the soul that matters. Everything else is merely a matter of life circumstances. You may be able to incinerate enemies with a glance, read minds, and see auras... But are you growing spiritually? That is the question.
