Om Shanti, Namaste, would it be better to take a photo today for the Puja, or does it not matter? Thank you.
You can use a more recent photo, for example, one you took recently. But any photo will do.

OM Shanti, by lineage, do you mean both the paternal and maternal lines?

OM Shanti, can the sesame be any kind, or does it need to be a specific color?
Is there a limit on the number of balls?
I have only seen two or three crows here once during all the years I have lived here, so that is a problem. Are there any birds recommended by the Vedas after crows?
If I make balls for everyone registered for the Puja and deliver them, so that they can distribute them through Nature themselves, would that be correct? Or should everyone make their own? The thing is, apart from me, no one would get out of bed at such an early hour here— it will be 3 a.m.—just to sit by a candle, whereas I would be happy to do it, especially during the Puja.
Can the balls be divided among household bird feeders, the forest, and the lake instead of feeding them all in one place?
Thank you.

Black is better, but any kind is fine. You can mix white and black sesame.

There are no limits.

Only if they are black. Black animals are also suitable, including dogs, for example.
The simplest option is to throw them into a river or leave them under a tree; birds or animals will come and eat them themselves.

It would be better for you to do this.

Yes.
In principle, any birds or animals will do. But crows are best.

I understand everything, OM Shanti, thank you.
I apologize for being so persistent, but I forgot to ask: what is best for cooking rice for this Puja—milk, water, or vegetable broth?
Thank you.

In milk.
You can also make paneer from milk and add it to the balls as you shape them. Then the dogs will definitely eat them along with the cats, in case there are problems with the crows.

Om Shanti, when purchasing the Puja package, I noticed that the package is valid for 30 days.
Could you tell me what this means? Will the Puja itself last 30 days, or does it mean something else?

Yes, I allowed more time so that no one would worry about not managing to complete something in time.

Thank you, OM Shanti. I have a general idea now. Is it possible to be in a state of “communicating” with one’s ancestors during the Puja? To imagine them, mentally ask them something, tell them something, and so on?

You can. It is best to feel gratitude, love, understanding, and respect toward them. Think of them as people who want what is best for you, in the way they knew how. Sometimes someone may be angry with a particular ancestor. But it is important to understand that they wanted what was best, according to their own understanding.

Om Shanti, could you please tell me whether the Puja will somehow affect living relatives? For example, my mother is not in contact with her sisters, and my sister and I are not in contact with them either.

It will help living relatives, as well as future generations.
As a rule, this happens through the purification of the lineage, which means that the flow of ancestral energies will become stronger.

OM Shanti, hello!

You have already answered the question about obtaining relatives’ consent, but I would still like to clarify a few details.
1. My mother had an abortion before I was born. Should this be mentioned separately? I do not know the exact details of what happened—only that it occurred. Could this be considered a special case in which I do not need to ask her about registering for the Puja? She is a staunch materialist and would definitely refuse if I asked.
2. My wife has a somewhat similar situation. Her older sister died of a serious illness at approximately one year of age. Then, when my wife was born, she was given the deceased sister’s name. Apparently, she was also baptized under that same name. Later, my wife changed her name. Here too, the question is whom should be registered for the Puja, and is it possible not to ask for permission? This is a very subtle matter, because the “sister” is still present in her field and, according to my wife, even helps her. Yet, according to my own feelings (especially in relation to myself), the “sister” takes a great deal of revenge, specifically on men (based on my observations). How should one act in this situation? My relationship with my wife has been on the verge of divorce for the last couple of days. I asked her about it, but did not receive a direct answer. I should say that I did not press her further so that an explicit “No” would not be voiced. Perhaps this is manipulation in some sense, but it seemed important to me that she not say a direct “No.”
2.1 If it is still possible not to ask, which name of my wife should be written down then? Her new name, or the name given at birth, like her sister’s?
2.1. In this situation, is it also possible not to ask my mother-in-law?

Just register yourself. Everyone else is already included in Your Lineage: your mother, father, etc.

I will say that I did not press her, so that an explicit "No" would not be voiced. Maybe this is manipulation in some sense, but it seemed important to me that there should not be a direct "No."
If she doesn't want to, then it isn't necessary.
2.1 If it is possible not to ask after all, which name should I write for my wife then? Her new name or the name given at birth, like her sister's?
The new one.

You need to ask. It's the same as having a wedding without the bride. If they don't want it, then apparently they don't need it.
The main thing is that you go through it yourself. It will also partially affect your wife and her Lineage, since there are many connections between a husband and wife.

Please check once again whether your topic is present: in the Puja section.

Namaste!
Teacher, I have a question about the red thread. Last year, it was recommended to keep it with you during the Puja so that it would absorb the necessary energies, and then wear it on your wrist. But as I understand it, this year's Puja—the lineage Puja—is different from last year's and is intended to help one's lineage and relatives (living and departed). Is it possible to charge the red thread this time as well? Or would that be pointless?
