Card No. 2. XV — The Devil
This Arcana embodies the image of an immense primordial force—the powerful energy of desires, passions, the material world, and earthly embodiment.
This force is not an obstacle in itself. On the contrary, it conceals enormous potential for creation, achieving goals, and enjoying life. But when a person ceases to control their desires and attachments, the energy begins to serve not them, but that on which they are inwardly dependent.
Perhaps what is exhausting you now is an overly strong attachment to a particular result, person, material goal, or image ofof life. Or there is an opposing conflict within you: you suppress your own desires, considering some of them unworthy, wrong, or dangerous.
In both cases, enormous power becomes bound up.
The Devil suggests not fighting your nature, but becoming aware of it. See where desire inspires and unfolds you, and where it turns into addiction, fear of loss, or the need to constantly get more and more.
Pay attention: what currently has such power over you that you devote a significant part of your attention, time, and inner freedom to it?
Your task is not to give up earthly desires, but to regain the ability to manage them wisely. Then the same energy that previously kept you dependent can become a source of extraordinary strength and creativity.
