Let us first read the definition:
Hibernation (winter — hibernation, summer — estivation) is a period of slowed vital processes and metabolism during periods when food is scarcely available, making it impossible to maintain activity and a high metabolic rate. It is characterized by a decrease in body temperature, slowed breathing and heartbeat, and the suppression of nervous activity and other physiological processes.

I will consider hibernation using the bear as an example. Physiologically, it is quite similar to a human; even its body temperature and heartbeat rhythm are almost the same.
Like humans, bears can be omnivorous, which is rare in the animal world. That is, a bear can be either a vegetarian or a meat-eater (for example, eating fish).
A bear’s hibernation can last up to 6 months, that is, half a year.

But many people kill the Nature within themselves through gluttony.

We know that, for now, only a few yogis slow their breathing, pulse, and metabolism, and reduce their food intake to a minimum. All of this is what we see in Nature under the name “hibernation.”
Winter is not an obligatory condition at all. Food is the main condition for hibernation, as I said above. In winter, it is more difficult for many to find food. For some, it may be during the heat in the desert.
