Sometimes I like asking you questions.
All of life is a game of questions and answers. I love life. I love the game called life. Because to live means to love.
Today My question is this: do you know what your task is?
Answer: to see Me everywhere. (I must admit that this is an unusual game in which I ask questions and answer them immediately!)
But let us return to life. Sometimes you feel lonely. You do not know which decision to make. You are confused because you feel torn apart and would like to discuss your doubts with someone.
You feel lonely—in that case, why do you never speak with Me? I am always beside you.
I am constantly beside you, yet you look for someone to talk to! Do you not find that strange?
If you were not so blind that you completely failed to notice Me, your behavior could be called very impolite. More precisely, the fact that you do not notice Me is not exactly what one would call a "notion of politeness," to use Plato's expression! Start making contact with Me one day. Speak with Me. Ask Me. Spend your time with Me. You will see that your life will gradually change at its very foundation.
Besides, you will bring Me great joy.
And why do I rejoice? Because I will see that you are returning home, that you are finding yourself within yourself.

In the West, it has become fashionable to speak of the so-called “transformation of the self.”
Moreover, people speak of the Self while meaning the ego—so in many cases, the transformation of the Self turns into pure “Egotrip,” to use another fashionable word (the English “trip” meaning intoxication with hallucinations).
Relationships, and families as a result, are in a deplorable state because of this misunderstood transformation of the Self.
Everyone deceives everyone else; everyone abandons everyone else in order to carry out the so-called transformation of the Self.
There is not a single promise that remains valid. There is not a single duty that is considered worth fulfilling. The transformation of the Self is a god that determines everything and to which everything is subordinated.
And what does this achieve?
Disappointment, tears, suffering. This is the result of this absurdly conducted transformation of the Self. When you buy something, you feel distrustful if someone offers you much more for a far lower price than others, don’t you?
The same applies to your personal development. Here, as in everything else, you progress only as far as your degree of readiness allows. The efforts you make determine your path.
The so-called transformation of the Self becomes a “zero tariff.” You only have to do what you like.
On the contrary, attaining the Self requires much care and effort.
Since you are afraid of effort and love comfort, you can of course easily be tempted by a “simple” solution.
But what I do not understand is this: if you want to buy a pair of shoes and find a suitable pair that is very cheap, you become suspicious and look for the reason behind the low price.
When it comes to shoes, where a greater or lesser sum of money is involved, you do this. But when it comes to your soul, when your life is at stake, you do not want to do this?
This is truly terrible.
Therefore, abandon the illusion that you can achieve development in some other way. It is not so. Everything has its price. The price of the transformation of the Self, for example, is that you acknowledge it at all.

I always repeat that the world is unreal.
At the same time, I regard it as the very best teacher and therefore attach great importance to it.
How can these different statements be reconciled?
To clarify My thought, I would like to begin from an entirely different perspective.
In the heavenly world, there are two significantly different states of being—Suryaloka and Chandraloka.
The former is the principle of the Sun. The souls who attain it have gained moksha, final Liberation, and will no longer be born.
In Chandraloka, the principle of the Moon, on the other hand, the soul remains until it has exhausted the credit of its good deeds. Then it is born again. (Here it should be briefly noted that individual souls may be born earlier, for example, in order to live at the same time as an Avatar, receive his blessing, and attain moksha.)
Both lokas are characterized by lasting bliss.
On Earth, by contrast, everything is different. On Earth, everything depends on one’s point of view—whether something specific is considered happiness or misfortune.
For example, when someone dies, in most cases those who remain behind experience pain.
For the deceased, on the other hand, it is happiness. In the heavenly world, he can enjoy unlimited bliss, and through his death may avoid creating negative karma that could bind him for many lifetimes.
For those who remain, death may also be happiness: either for selfish reasons, when the deceased had been a burden to them, or because they had suffered under his authority, and so on. Sometimes I may be the reason—or because the deceased was suffering severe pain and death came to him as relief, or so that those who remained could see that death, for a particular person, means liberation.
You must always understand that nothing simply “falls” upon anyone by chance, not to mention that anyone could die by the will of an “accident.” Everyone has their appointed time. Nothing is accidental.
This is where the “unreality” of the world begins and ends. Your feelings are so important to you that deeper connections do not interest you, at least not as a priority. This often leads you to perceive the world as aggressive and to regard God as merciless.
Nothing in the world has value in itself. Everything is transient. Everything depends on judgment and motives.
The world is unreal because it conceals My completely holy motives so well that you can become easy prey to your feelings.
But sooner or later, the veil will be lifted, and then—as a result of understanding the interconnections gained through enlightenment—you will understand Who has constantly accompanied you.

Throughout this year, I will remind you again and again to repeat the name of God. In this, that is, the Kali age, this is the best way to manifest God, that is, to free yourself from birth and death.
When you repeat the name of God, your thoughts, feelings, aspirations, and desires are directed toward God.
If you think of God, you will become God. If you feel God, your feelings will become love, and your desire will become compassion.
Moreover, having the name of God on your lips destroys mountains of negative karma.
With the name of God on your lips, you become the creator of your destiny: nothing negative can cling to you, because you think good thoughts, see good things, listen to good things, and do good things.
And how should you repeat this name?
Choose any form of God that is especially expressive for you and particularly close to you, and pronounce the word OM before the corresponding name of God.
OM is the primordial sound from which everything arose, and which therefore connects you with everything—and above all with God.
If, for example, you have chosen Jesus Christ, repeat: "OM Jesus Christ," inhaling "OM" and exhaling "Jesus Christ."
To strengthen this meditation, place an image before you and inwardly connect the name of God with this image.
If you have chosen a particular name, hold firmly to that choice. Never change it. Changing it will plunge you into confusion and lead nowhere.
Hold firmly to the name you once chose. Savor its sweetness and allow Him to guide you.
Everything else is His task. Believe firmly in this, and you will be free. From the very beginning.

If, after getting out of bed in the morning, you feel that you have little strength, then be sure that you are living incorrectly.
Suffering, disappointments, and frustrations are part of your development, because life itself consists of an endless succession of joys and sorrows.
But the emphasis must be placed on the word “succession.”
On the other hand, if you are always sad, depressed, and lacking in strength, then you are doing something fundamentally wrong.
Life is a flow. Life requires movement. Gloominess, anger, pride, and all negative feelings obstruct the flow. They gain power over you by cutting you off from the flow of your life. That is why they are bad for you.
Lust, for example, is also classified among negative feelings.
Western ideology teaches people to regard lust and its gratification as the greatest good.
Such a teaching is very dangerous. I will tell you why.
Lust in itself is not bad if it is connected with love. But without love, it is very dangerous. If you give in to a passion for food and drink, you will harm your health for a long time. If you have a desire for sexual adventures, especially while changing partners, you likewise harm your mental and physical well-being.
Moreover, you increasingly close your heart. Sexuality without love is a lifeless adventure. Whoever seeks this has a closed heart. Sexuality without love inflates your ego and dishonors you.
On the other hand, if you long for your spouse, unite with them in love, and dedicate this to God (7.I), then lust in the name of love will bring blessings to your body, soul, and spirit.

Shanti, inner peace, is a sign of God’s Grace.
Shanti is the opposite of what surrounds you: cities are dying because of traffic. Ears suffer from noise.
Eyes are blinded by the many varied lights and colors. The nose is irritated by the various odors coming from all directions.
How can you find inner peace in such surroundings?
Remember your divinity. Make the light and the positive within you grow stronger. Make them grow day by day, becoming greater and greater. With this light and positivity, you create a new energy field around yourself that attracts developing souls who have already progressed further along the path to shanti.
Your inner changes create an outer change: you meet other people who, in turn, change you—that is, your inner self—again.
And what happens to your surroundings?
Cars continue to drive. Illuminated advertisements continue to shine intrusively into your eyes. Chimneys continue to mercilessly blacken the sky.
But now you feel it differently. You have established contact with inner order. You have gained experience and learned that within you lies a source of the deepest peace.
It changes everything—and in time it will change the outer world as well.
Such is the power of calmness. Shanti.

Those who believe that God does not exist are closing their eyes. They go through life blindly and must constantly watch out so as not to collide with something they have failed to notice.

What you understand as a catastrophe does not exist at all. There are only events that I send you to change the very foundations of your path, or so that your eyes may finally be opened.
If you look at things over a longer period of time, there is truly nothing that could harm you. Everything has its meaning. And that meaning can only be positive, because behind everything is My undivided love for you.
One day, think about all the events you have experienced so far that initially seemed terrible and unbearable to you. How many of them still seem so today? How many turned out to be blessings?
How many of those you regarded as catastrophes saved you from a real catastrophe!
Much in life does not happen according to your will. Do not worry about this, but think about how often you have been and are fortunate.
Be certain that My limitless love is constantly embracing you, and that I am doing everything to ensure your good fortune.
If everything happened only according to your will, misfortune would be guaranteed.
What you call a catastrophe is a turn of the wheel on My part to avoid a greater misfortune.
Today, you must trust Me in all this. One day you will see the connection for yourself.

In the heavenly world there is no hell. Only happiness and love.
Hell exists on Earth. And you prepare it for yourselves through your actions and their consequences.
The concept of “hell” is inherently mistaken. The notion of hell that has, for example, become established in Western countries implies eternal condemnation.
But there is no eternal condemnation.
There are only difficult, sometimes very difficult situations on Earth that one must pass through in order to learn.
Through your actions, you show your state of development. Then I create situations corresponding to your state of development, so that you can learn what you need to learn and, ultimately, everyone—sooner or later—can attain complete liberation.
And what will you be liberated from? From the chains that bind you to Earth.
Because you believe in this so little, the process of liberation lasts so long. Over many lifetimes, you need to experience and understand that seeking your happiness in the world is meaningless, and that everything you seek is within you.
It is so simple, clear, and true. And yet it is so difficult for many to believe.

I always repeat that one should travel with little luggage.
A lot of luggage means a lot of attachments.
You need this and that to feel good. If you do not have them, you feel unhappy.
Along with this, you become so dependent on certain things that they determine your happiness and unhappiness.
This is not only foolish but also quite insane—that is, your judgments, or in other words, your ideas, are wrong.
Things are poor companions. They quickly deteriorate, disappear, or are stolen.
Therefore, always use them as if it were the last time. Be grateful that you have them, but at the same time be ready to give them up at any moment.
Always remember that nothing on Earth is eternal. Everything is only lent to you—soap bubbles that can burst at any moment.
If you are caught up in this, you get wet with every bursting bubble. Therefore, keep a little distance. Observe the things around you with interest, attention, and, as mentioned, gratitude; then unpleasant surprises will not befall you.
And one more thing: a soap bubble may burst prematurely because you have come too close—it explodes right in front of your nose.

THE EFFECT OF VIBHUTI.

We learned about the effect of vibhuti from a wonderful experience Baba gave us when I was lecturing college students. For example, if you want to protect your car, draw the OM sign with Sacred Ash on the front panel of the car, and it will be protected.

Combining oil with vibhuti has a powerful effect.
If you have a headache or problems with your eyes, ears, or thyroid gland—in other words, anything related to the head—take a little almond oil, add vibhuti to it, mix it, and before going to bed apply it to your eyelids and behind your earlobes. Almond oil is preferred because if it gets into your eyes, it is completely harmless.

If you have sinusitis, you can apply this mixture to the maxillary sinuses; for thyroid disease, apply it to the throat.

If you suffer from insomnia or have a headache, apply the mixture to your forehead before going to bed and you will feel relief.

For any organ in the chest or abdominal area, you can use any vegetable oil suitable for cooking (sunflower, cottonseed, etc.).

For large areas of the body, vibhuti with oil is applied as follows: draw the OM sign, then rub the mixture into the body, but do not massage it.

For people suffering from rheumatism or arthritis—in short, for any pain in the joints or spine—use butter.
You will feel relief if you apply the mixture to the affected joints before going to bed. In cases of rheumatism or arthritis, you should avoid all sour foods (lemon, yogurt, fermented dairy products), and it is advisable to drink only warm beverages, not cold ones.
If you have heart problems, draw the OM sign with this mixture over the heart area.

But instead of resting, accepting and filling yourself with My energy, you torment yourself without a break.
During darshan, you want to get a good place. You want Me to take the letter being handed to Me. You want Me to look at you—and hope that I will smile at you. You want an interview. You want to be close to Me.
You want, you want, you want—you want to make your life difficult.
You get angry that everything does not happen as you want it to. It seems to you that I have “total power.”
I have the full power of perfect love.
But do not make things difficult for yourself. Let Me do it.
You have come so far in your development because I have guided and protected you, although you did not notice it.
Countless times I have shown that I know better than you what you need—only you
have often failed to notice it.
My love is the granite foundation on which you can build. My power is your refuge.
Therefore, come to Me and, for the first time in your life, learn how to spend your weekends properly. Relax.
Leave everything to Me. Keep in mind that everything that happens—here or anywhere else—is only the very best for you.
Do not think: “Actually, I imagined it differently.” Rather say: “This is what there is. I imagined it differently, but obviously God is fulfilling precisely the desire of mine that I have not yet realized at all. What incredible support and care on His part.”

Illness, poverty, and troubles are often very difficult to endure. However, the negative consequences of all this are not as painful or long-lasting as the consequences of ignorance.
Ignorance is the most terrible disease a person can have.
In the Middle Ages, alchemists sought a stone whose touch could turn ordinary metal into gold. They were intelligent and educated people, but they found nothing.
The ignorant person seems to have found a stone with the opposite effect. Instead of turning everything into gold, it turns everything into lead. The tragedy of the ignorant person is this: everything they touch sooner or later becomes heavy, dull, and gloomy—and, moreover, poisonous like heavy lead!
How many people get into trouble solely and entirely because of their ignorance! As many say: "Oh, if only I had known about it beforehand!"
But did you really want to know? Did you really seek knowledge?
Consider that the main difference between the sophists, who thought they knew, and Socrates, who knew, was that Socrates always emphasized: "I know only that I know nothing." By contrast, the sophists presented themselves as knowing a great deal, but in conversation with Socrates they proved that in fact they knew nothing. Whoever boasts, whoever thinks they can grasp an entire problem without experience or qualifications, is almost always, strictly speaking, ignorant.
Stay away from this worst of diseases. Rejoice in any knowledge, even the most insignificant. Gather these crumbs like pearls and thus—crumb by crumb—free yourself from this prison of ignorance.
