But it has no backstory.
And I will tell it to you now...
Devaraj was a devout Shaivite.
He worshipped Shiva as the Absolute Truth.
The years passed.
The mantras sounded.
His austerities intensified.
Life contracted into dry correctness.
He was like a robot who devoted his entire life to absolute adherence to all the Rules and Laws of the Vedas.
But Shiva did not come.
Devaraj did everything right, but Shiva did not come.
There was no hint that he would come at all...
And then he did the unthinkable.
Devaraj renounced the dharma of a Brahmin.
He left the village.
He removed his sacred thread.
He stopped following the rules.
At first—as a hermit.
Then—as an outcast.
And then… as a bandit.
He robbed people on the roads.
Sometimes—brutally.
Sometimes—mercilessly...
