We were offered the opportunity to choose a painting where, next to the artist’s name, the inscription “YourYoga Mahapurna” would appear—that is, the name of our group, the participants in the donations.

I’ll say right away: WE ARE THE FIRST. As I already said, this offer has only just appeared; it’s exclusive.

And there aren’t that many paintings.

And once again, mysticism!

We were offered paintings specifically from the part of the Temple where that very Narasimha will be.

All the paintings are about demons wanting to destroy the boy Prahlada; the only thing he did was speak about God.

All of this is very relevant in our time, when there are either false religions or outspoken atheists all around. Both are ready to tear you apart for your FAITH....

I chose picture 5 as an embodiment of a certain freedom in which one can express oneself in any way, even through the power of Narasimha when necessary. After all, Nrasimha always remains our Protector.

I liked image 3 the most, if choosing from what is available.

Because Narasimha has already arrived, and the godless have seen him and become afraid.

And the boy is happy to see Narasimha because, firstly, help has arrived, and secondly, his conscience is clear and he has nothing to fear. In this image, it would be more appropriate to draw the boy sitting in the lotus position (as an embodiment of all yoga)—as if to say, there is strength in yoga, and what was previously unmanifested—the transcendental—has manifested.

No. 5 is trash, so it definitely needs to be redrawn. And why is the boy holding his hands at his chest in no. 5? In this image, it would be more appropriate to draw the boy with a neutral expression and his hands in a neutral position.

The others are more about the boy’s Path, where Narasimha has not manifested in physical form.

That is why no. 3 is good. As if to say: here, look at the result of your behavior. Think about it—while it is not too late, you still have a few seconds to renounce your vices, and then perhaps Narasimha will not touch you. No. 3 leads up to the culmination.

But if we choose no. 5, perhaps our inscription will be remembered most by all the temple visitors, and they will immediately Google who we are, join us, and finally take up yoga. Clearly, no. 5 should contain the culmination, which means the image should be the strongest.

Images no. 3 and 5 will most likely be photographed and shared most often, as they characterize the temple. No. 3 is more restrained and neutral. No. 5 is the essence of Narasimha.

That is why, if we look at “the whole picture,” changes should be made to all the images, especially no. 5, if possible.

That is, where the boy’s “Path” is shown (Narasimha has not yet manifested), add a protective energy circle around the boy that protects him from robbers with sabers, elephants, and snakes. It is not simply that one calls oneself a yogi, sits cross-legged, and is saved. No—to prevent people from being misled. Devotional service, when harm cannot be inflicted, is the result of a long Path; it is accumulated energy.

Image no. 5 especially needs to be redone. Remove the blood completely, along with this trash of poking around in the intestines. Narasimha is not an animal. So it could be depicted in a more interesting way: Narasimha stomps with one foot, and energy spreads out, knocking the murder weapons from the criminals’ hands; moreover, the heated weapons fly away in all directions. The criminals crash into walls and columns in terror, while their own heated swords are held in the air by some invisible force against their own throats—but without blood; everyone is alive. The boy levitates high above all this in the lotus position. Let the viewer continue to wonder: will the criminals be killed by their own swords or not? And Narasimha takes a step toward the demon, growls, and shows his claws; what can be expected next? This way, the ending remains open and intriguing, so people will think.

If it is redone this way, then we can choose no. 5. And yet, do we need to? No. 5 is a very powerful image. If it were at the temple, I would leave it without any inscription at all. Because any inscription would inevitably make people associate it with Narasimha himself. That is an extremely great responsibility. Are we ready for it? Is anyone besides Narasimha actually ready for such responsibility?

I started scrolling through them one by one, immersing myself in the story, and the sixth one caught my attention.
I liked the third one too, but the sixth appealed to my heart for some reason

I voted for painting number 3

The culmination of the story—the appearance of Lord Narasimha.
Little Prahlada is happy and frozen in a prayerful pose.
The demons are horrified; as they say, their whole lives flashed before their eyes. They immediately understood everything about their unrighteous deeds. Truth triumphs, no matter how much it is denied, distorted, or hidden.

At the same time, the painting speaks of the Perfect Protection of devotees in the most unexpected Divine form.

Lord Narasimha appears in a terrifying form to the unrighteous.
And in a majestic, beautiful form to pure, innocent souls.
He frightens some with His appearance and delights others.

Protection and instruction at the same time.

All the paintings are beautiful. They fill me with warmth, but I especially liked 3 and 5, as they also fill me with joy at Narasimha’s appearance and awe at His power. And with the certainty that the demon will be defeated. The third is bright and inspiring—the appearance of Narasimha. The fifth is very powerful—the punishment for crimes.
I chose 3, but I was tempted by 5 as well.

I liked the third painting: the false idols that had been erected flew apart, and Narasimha appeared—His roar and power; the demons were terrified, and the boy was joyful at the appearance of the deity to whom he had prayed.

I was choosing between 3 and 6. I was leaning toward 3 because it depicts Narasimha Himself manifesting. I also like 6 as a symbol of the fact that no material danger—poison or malice—can prevail before the Divine, and that it is transformed. But I voted for number 3 because it is brighter and probably more explicit.
5, as a depiction of victory—yes, but I don’t like the image itself. Of course, one could say that a battle often doesn’t look beautiful, and that this is exactly how terrible it looks. That is why I voted for a different scene.

Namaste! I liked all the paintings, but I chose painting No. 3 because I ultimately wanted to see Narasimha specifically as the Protector who appeared in time to save the little boy, rather than just scenes of Prahlada being tortured by demons—to feel his strength and power, and the prospect of Good triumphing over Evil! In painting No. 5, the climax of the demon’s defeat is already shown. When I first saw a bas-relief of this scene during a trip to Nepal (and at that time I was actively studying Buddhism with its focus on nonviolence), this image initially simply shocked me... Later, when I learned Narasimha’s story, my attitude toward the subject changed. But I still prefer to see painting No. 3!

I think the voting should be anonymous; it should be hidden who votes for which painting. Some people choose without thinking and just look at how others are voting; in my opinion, that is not fair. Most people are used to living this way—not thinking, but following the majority, especially if Om Shanti himself is part of that majority. Forgive my honesty, Om Shanti, but this is a serious choice.
The voting should be made anonymous. My suggestion is not to show who votes for which painting, or to say right away which painting will contain the inscription.
