“Before taking on the task of remaking others, first change yourselves. Do not miss this unique opportunity. Know that such an opportunity will not arise again. (This great chance, for which the rishis (sages) and devas (gods) prayed for so long—to see and feel the embodiment of God and receive His sanctifying blessing—you have earned through the accumulation of merit over numerous past lives. These merits brought you here when I descended to Earth. Having gained this chance through karmic merit, strive, without losing a single second, to attain the bliss of Unity and taste its sweetness. If you cannot do this now, if you do not cross the Ocean of Suffering by using this opportunity, when will you have it again?

Great changes are coming in the world. For now, I behave as you do: I walk among you, sing, laugh—but ... beware of the blow I will strike unexpectedly, to warn and punish you. This Avatar is destined to burn away sin with a searing iron and punish those who do evil, while comforting the virtuous for their righteousness. Nothing will stop or shake Him. Justice will triumph, and everyone will receive according to their merits...

Two Kinds of Knowledge​

A scholar asked a sage how the individual coexists with the whole, and how knowledge of the many differs from knowledge of completeness.

The sage replied:

“Scattered things become whole

when they find a center

and begin to act together.

Only at the center does multiplicity become

real

and important,

and its fullness

then seems simple to us,

almost small,

calm,

directed toward what is near,
a force that remains below and close to the one who bears it.

Therefore, in order to comprehend fullness

or speak of it,

I do not need to know everything separately,

to tell,

to possess,

or to do it all.



For whoever wants to enter a city

will pass through one gate.

Whoever strikes a bell once

awakens many others with a single sound.

One who plucks an apple from a branch

need not delve into the essence of its origin.

He simply holds the apple in his hand

™ and eats it.”

The scholar objected:

“Whoever wants truth

must know every detail of it.”

The sage refuted this as well:

“Much is known about the old truth.

The truth that opens the way onward

is new

and requires courage.

For its outcome,

like a tree in a seedling,

is hidden within it.

And therefore, whoever does not dare to act,

wishing to know more

than the next step permits,

misses what contains the power.

He takes

a coin for merchandise,
and a tree

for timber.”

The scholar thought this was only part of the answer and asked for further explanations.

But the sage merely shook his head,

because fullness is at first like a barrel

full of young wine:

it is sweet and cloudy.

It must be given time

to ferment,

until it becomes clear.

Whoever drinks it,

without limiting himself to a sip for tasting,

becomes intoxicated

and loses his balance.

Everything happens according to the Will of God.
Do not be deluded or think that everything happens according to your will.
If that were so, then why can you not control certain events that happen in your life?
Understand that everything happens according to the Will of God.
If something good happens to you, you consider it the Will of God.
If something bad happens, consider that this too is the Will of God. Surely, everything He does has a purpose that you cannot comprehend.
He does everything solely for your good.
Therefore, surrender everything to His Will. “Sukhadukhe samekrutva labhalabhau jayajayau” (one should treat happiness and sorrow, gain and loss, victory and defeat equally).
Whatever may happen to you, consider it a manifestation of Divine love and welcome it with all your heart.

The more serious your problems, the greater your chances of showing God that you are a spiritual Napoleon or Genghis Khan—a conqueror of yourself. We have so many imperfections to overcome within ourselves! The one who has become master of himself is the true conqueror.

Try to do as I do—continually conquer yourself. And in this inner victory, I gain power over the whole world.

The mysterious primordial elements and the sacred scriptures, which seem so contradictory, all become clear in the great Divine Light. In this light, you understand everything and master everything.

The only purpose for which you were sent here is to attain this Divine Wisdom. And if, instead, you strive for something else, you will punish yourself.

Realize your Self and realize God. And whatever life demands of you, do it as well as you can. By recognizing and doing what is needed, learn to overcome any obstacles and gain mastery over yourself.

SHIVA AND SHAVA
(GOD and THE DEAD BODY)

A sadhaka should rejoice in obstacles, for they are nothing other than a challenge, an opportunity to prove one’s own steadfastness and help overcome attachment to the body. Shiva has no fear; only shava is afraid. Until you control the stream of desires surging through your mind, it is merely time wasted. If your desire is fulfilled, you worship Me; if not, you berate Me. This is how your desires demean you. When one desire is fulfilled, ten arise in its place. Needs are endless. The same man came to Me, first desiring success in his examinations, then a good job, then asking for help for his father-in-law, his child, then for his business to grow, then for a place for his son in medical college—an unending succession of desires; but at last he came seeking My grace, to end the pursuit of worldly pleasures and receive initiation into the path of spiritual liberation. Chinta, anxiety—this is what constantly afflicts such people. In the Telugu language, chinta means a tamarind tree. They live on the tamarind tree, the chinta tree; whereas My tree is santosha, the tree of happiness.

If you develop within yourself the sacred and exalted idea, “I am God,” nothing will touch you; nothing will stand in your way.

Of course, it is useless simply to repeat these words; they must come from your personal experience.
You must overcome body consciousness and establish firm control over your senses.
Then, by constantly identifying yourself with the Lord, you will eventually attain supreme wisdom.
Alternatively, you may follow the path of Dasoham, which effectively removes egoism from your heart; then you will be filled with bliss.

There are three successive paths on the way to God-realization. They are Dvaita—dualism, Vishishtadvaita—qualified non-dualism, and Advaita—non-dualism.

At the very beginning, you declare: “I am a devotee of God.” Here there are two entities: one is God, and the other is you, the devotee. You believe that God is somewhere far away, and that you must strive to find Him, draw closer to Him, and be near Him.

Gradually, you progress along this path and eventually find yourself face to face with the Lord.
Then you say to Him: “O Lord, I am Your devotee.”
At this second stage, you stand directly before God and declare that you are a devotee of the Lord Himself.

Then, at the third stage, you can state: “I am You, You are me, We are One.”

The first stage, defined by the declaration “I am a devotee of God,” in which God is recognized as an image far removed from you, is Dvaita.

The second stage, in which you say directly to the Lord, “O Lord, I am Your devotee,” and feel Him in your heart, is the stage of Vishishtadvaita.

The third stage, in which the truth is revealed—“O Lord, I am You, and You are me”—where it is impossible to draw a boundary between oneself and God, is Advaita, non-dualism.

Why fill your mind with knowledge from a huge mountain of books if that knowledge does not bring you the true Happiness that is rightfully due to a human being?

Will God not take care of you if you place your complete trust in Him? What can you achieve by earning a living from morning till night while forgetting the omnipresent God?

Everyone dreams of Peace. People say, “I want Peace.” But can Peace be found in the external, constantly changing material world? Peace must be found within yourself by freeing yourself from the egoism of “I” and the desires of “I want.”

You destroy Peace yourself through egoism and insatiable desires. Limit your desires. To attain true peace of mind, you must reduce your desires and develop detachment from the objects of the material world.

A person has lost Peace because of endless cares, anxieties, and worries. Only by turning the mind toward God can a person attain Peace. Although the Lord always dwells within a person, that person searches for God everywhere. By exploring external diversity, you will never be able to purify your inner consciousness and understand your True nature.

Today we bid farewell to the current year and prepare to welcome the New Year! There is a close connection between them. Just as we bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new year, should we not say goodbye to all our bad qualities and develop Good and Divine qualities? You can offer all your bad qualities to God. There is nothing wrong with this. In fact, only God can accept them and shower His Grace upon you, helping you develop Good Qualities. For example, suppose you have a dirty and torn banknote that no one will accept from you. But if its serial number is still intact, the bank will accept it and give you a new banknote of the same denomination in exchange. In the same way, only God can and will accept bad qualities, provided they are offered to Him with Sincere Devotion and Repentance; in return, He will abundantly bless you with His Grace.

POEM “SAMADHI”
The veils of light and shadow fell away,
The fog of sorrow dispersed,
All dawns of fleeting joy drifted away,
The misty mirage of the senses vanished.
Love, hatred, health, illness, life, death:
On the screen of duality, these deceptive shadows melted away.
Waves of laughter, monsters of sarcasm, whirlpools of melancholy
Melt into the boundless sea of bliss.
The storm of maya grew still
Beneath the sweep of the magic wand of deep intuition.
The universe—a forgotten dream—lies hidden in the subconscious,
Ready to fill the newly awakened
Divine memory.
I live without a cosmic shadow,
But there is no shadow without me,
Just as there is no sea without waves,
And no waves without the sea.
There are no more dreams or waking states for me,
No states of deep sleep or superconsciousness,
No past, present, or future,
Only the eternal, all-pervading “I” everywhere.
Planets, stars, nebulae, Earth,
The volcanic fire of Judgment Day,
The crucible of creation,
The radiance of silent X-rays, blazing streams of electrons,
The thoughts of all people, past, present, and future,
Every blade of grass, myself, all humanity,
Every speck of universal dust,
Anger, greed, good, evil, salvation, desire—
I swallowed everything and transformed it
Into a boundless ocean—the blood of my one Being.
The smoldering joy, often fanned by meditation,
Blinding my tear-filled eyes,
Flared up in the immortal fire of bliss,
Consuming my tears, my body, all of me.
You are I, I am You,
The Knower, the Knowing, the Known—One!
Peaceful, indestructible rapture, eternally alive, eternally new peace!
Samadhi—the bliss that grants unimaginable happiness beyond all expectations!
Not an unconscious state,
Not a mental anesthesia
From whose embrace there is no escape.
Samadhi only expands the dominion of my consciousness
Far beyond the realm of mortals
To the very boundaries of eternity,
Where I—the Cosmic Ocean—
Look upon the tiny ego floating within Me.
Neither a sparrow nor a grain of sand falls beyond my sight.
The entire cosmos floats like an iceberg in the sea of my mind.
A vast vessel, I am made of everything.
Through ever deeper, longer, more yearning,
Guru-given meditation,
This divine Samadhi arrives.
I hear the humming of trembling atoms.
Dark earth, mountains, valleys—look!
It is molten liquid!
Its flowing seas evaporate, turning into nebulae!
AUM blows away these vapors, revealing everything
That lay hidden behind their veils:
Boundless oceans of shining electrons,
And finally, the sound of blows on the cosmic drum
Disperses coarse light into the eternal rays
Of all-encompassing bliss.
I came from joy, I live for joy, in sacred joy I dissolve.
I am the ocean of consciousness, absorbing all the waves of creation.
Four veils have been skillfully removed:
Those of solid, liquid, gas, and light.
I enter into everything, and everything enters the Great I.
The restlessly flickering shadows of worldly memories are gone forever,
The sky of my soul is cloudless—below, ahead, and high above.
I have merged with eternity in a single ray.
I, a tiny, joyful bubble, have become the Sea of Supreme Joy.

God is your One True Friend. Your “friends” will be with you only as long as you are materially secure, but as soon as your wealth runs out, they will leave you. God is the One Friend who will always be with you, within you and around you, and will never abandon you. Therefore, the only path to prosperity is to develop a Friendship with the Lord. In performing any work, hold on to the Lord as your Guide and Saviour. This will surely bring you success. Make others Happy. This is True Love. Your Heart is full of Love. Make a firm resolve that, from the New Year onward, you will begin the day with Love, spend the whole day in Love, fill the day with Love and end the day with Love! Every day, share Love with at least five people. Express, experience and share Divine Love with everyone, without making distinctions based on a person’s religion, social status, skin colour or nationality. Then all countries and the whole world will prosper, and everyone will be happy.

"Искать счастье вне себя самого — все равно что пытаться набросить лассо на облако. Счастье — не вещь, это состояние ума. Его нужно оживить. Никакими земными усилиями, никакими проектами получения прибылей невозможно обрести счастье. Результатом фокусирования сознания на внешнем становится лишь ментальное беспокойство. Беспокойство и нетерпение сами по себе гарантируют, что счастье будет труднодостижимым.
Преходящая власть и деньги — это не состояние ума. Однажды приобретенные, они лишь разжижают истинное счастье человека. Разумеется, усилить его они не могут.
Чем больше мы беспорядочно растрачиваем запасы своей энергии, тем меньше сил сможем направить на определенное предприятие. Подобно спруту, привычки к беспокойству и нервозности кроются в глубине подсознания, опутывая своими щупальцами наш ум и сокрушая все то, что однажды было духовным покоем.
Истинное счастье невозможно обрести за пределами Себя. Те же, кто ищут счастье в себе, подобны сияющей радуге среди облаков!".
