Deep-Level Relaxation. Practice

This very simple and accessible practice provides relaxation for the modern person more powerfully and quickly than sleep does.

If a modern person lies down and tells themselves to relax, they will not relax.

They may lie there and appear to be resting outwardly. But they will not relax.

Even if they manage to doze off, much inside them will still remain tense.

This tension does not let go somewhere inside. It comes from within, and even from the past.

And this is accumulated tension.

It forces the muscles and nervous system to remain tense.

The nervous system periodically malfunctions. It is different for everyone. Often this manifests as seemingly groundless fears, panic attacks, psychosis, irritability, breakdowns...

You are currently in the section of my free practices at the Mahapurna School.

I have provided many practices since creating the Your Yoga website. Many people have long been helping themselves and their loved ones.

Moreover, I helped people long before creating the Your Yoga website in 2003.
I even went to people’s homes for free when called, to heal with my hands. That happened too. I conducted offline meditations, programs... But then the Internet appeared, and I was able to help a much larger audience. I told you this a long time ago.

"There is a practice for everything" (c) OM Shanti.

To unlock the material for this practice, write about your current state in this thread (800 characters). Do you feel inner tension? Do you understand that you cannot relax simply by deciding to do so, and that there is no REST after sleep, even though there SHOULD be?

Do you experience panic attacks, unexplained fear, or states when your nervous system simply cannot cope and you lie down for a day or half a day because your head is spinning from dystonia of the brain’s blood vessels, which begin to dance to their own rhythm, reacting to your inner tension and fears, and so on?

For example, you can describe your states, what you did, what helped, and so on.

I will personally review your descriptions in this thread.

READ THE PRACTICE:

Здесь находится скрытый материал. Чтобы его открыть Вам надо написать полезный текст не менее 800 символов (букв). Сейчас у Вас символов: 0.

✨ When to Use It

  • During overload and “mental noise”
  • After distressing news, conflicts, or work
  • When it is difficult to fall asleep
  • After sitting at a computer for a long time
  • If you feel that you are “controlling life too much”

🌌 Effects

  • Release of deep unconscious muscle tone
  • Nervous system reset
  • Reduced control, anxiety, and tension
  • The feeling that something inside has let go
  • Improved sleep, digestion, and emotional state

The practice has a cumulative effect. Do it every day. And the tension, like a layered cake, will be removed layer by layer.

Gradually release any deep tensions that literally make it impossible to live.

That is why I want to emphasize once again how important it is to record your current state in this thread now. Because life may divide into BEFORE and AFTER this practice.

🌙 THE RELAXATION YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS

Do you sleep—but not rest?
Lie down—but feel tension inside?
Everything seems calm, yet inside there's a lump, anxiety, heaviness, and helplessness?

We live in a world where even rest is tension.
And now, at last, there is a practice that relaxes you more deeply than sleep.

🌀 “Deep-Level Relaxation”

A free practice at Mahapurna School—the one after which
You will say: “For the first time in a long while, I truly let go”

What the practice does:

✅ Releases internal muscular and nervous tension accumulated over the years
✅ Eliminates psychosomatic tension, anxiety, and panic symptoms
✅ Initiates a reset through the brain’s natural mechanisms
✅ Restores a sense of warmth, silence, and genuine peace
✅ Goes deeper than sleep, deeper than meditation, deeper than control

You simply lie down.

And at some point, everything starts happening on its own.

— The brain disconnects from its habitual noise
— The body activates “catalepsy of peace”—an ancient healing mechanism

📍 When to use it:

— After difficult days
— Before sleep
— During an emotional breakdown, anxiety, or panic
— After being overwhelmed by responsibilities, an argument, or tension
— When you can no longer “keep everything inside”

⚠ Important:

This is not just a technique. It can become a turning point in your life.
This is truly a life-changing practice. An entry into a life without tension.

🔗 The practice is available in the free practices section of Mahapurna School
Your body knows how to let go. Just allow it to do so!

I often feel anxious, and my body is tense. There is no sense of freedom or lightness in my body. Tightness in the chest area. Difficulty falling asleep. Accumulated stress (difficult events in my life two years ago). My mind understands that the stress is in the past. My body won't let go.

This used to happen more often: fear would come over me, and I couldn't cope with it. Now, when I practice regularly and conduct KAY and Ra Fields sessions for myself, this hardly ever happens. However, I still experience tension when I miss a session, don't have time, or disrupt my sleep schedule. It manifests as insomnia, inner tension, tightness, and stiffness. Moreover, I don't always notice this tension myself; sometimes my Pilates instructor notices and tells me that my body has become tense again and nothing is working. I also notice it through Wim Hof diaphragmatic breathing. The calmer I feel inside, the longer I can hold the pause, and it comes easily.
Meditation, rest, and the aforementioned KAY and Ra Fields sessions help relieve the tension. It is important not to let things slide and to restore yourself as early as possible rather than accumulate it; the longer the tension lasts, the harder it is to get out of it and the easier it is to return.

Accumulated stress (difficult events in my life two years ago). My mind understands that the stress is in the past, but my body will not let it go. It is difficult to concentrate. I often feel fear before events, often without any real basis. It feels as though there are blocks in my muscles that prevent the energy from being released. It is difficult to relax completely during meditation; previously, I was able to relax fully. My abilities feel blocked. The technique of letting go is very important to me. Physical exercises bring a brief sense of relaxation, but then the tension returns to my muscles. The lack of harmony in my body hinders my development, both spiritually and in life. Constant stress makes it seem that I never manage to get anything done. I want to relax and let go of the past. I want to live in harmony and understanding. I feel a desire to let go of the old.

This is that familiar, "native" issue that you live with and that, like a shadow, is always with you. Tension is present everywhere, always, in everything. It may be a little more or a little less, but it is always there, day and night. And if I have to deal with some kind of "task," a journey, or an event, it drives me to exhaustion, helplessness, and a headache. Everything described in this topic is about me, except for panic attacks. At night I do not sleep; I "pretend" to sleep. (That is how my loved ones joke about me.) Endless control and responsibility get in the way. In general, it seems to me that this kind of "tension," this inability to relax and need for control, is passed down through the family. I pass it on to my child as well. It is somehow "contagious," this endless tension. It comes from deep within—from the habit of "thinking," from fears and "distrust," both literally and figuratively.
That is why I am here, at this School, this Ashram.

Usually, when there is a lot of tension in me, the following reaction occurs: I somehow freeze up, and it seems that I do not feel or want anything at all. More specifically, I feel the tension, for example, in public places or at a stadium. At such moments, I simply force myself to work on myself through willpower, and gradually there is less and less tension in my body.
After sleeping, if I do not have to go to work that day, it takes me a very long time to get going, and I may lie in bed for a long time, not wanting anything. But I already know that lying there will only make things worse. So once again I force myself to get up, pour water over myself, exercise, and the tension lets go.
But even when I do have to go to work, it takes a very long time to adjust to reality and accept the fact that there are many tasks to do. But again, prayer and exercise bring relaxation to my mind, and everything returns to normal. Physical activities help me in particular.
If anxiety arises whose cause I cannot understand, meditation, prayer, and pranayama help. A sense of calm and fullness appears.

Yes, such a problem does exist. Sometimes I feel dizzy, have many thoughts, and experience autonomic dysfunction. I am currently making time for relaxation, but it would be interesting to see what else can be used. As I understand it, weakness and other manifestations of autonomic dysfunction arise precisely because of constant internal tension and anxiety (no wonder, since they consume a lot of energy). This did not happen until I was about 25. It came “with age.” At first, one day, I suddenly felt “out of nowhere” that I was about to die. This was accompanied by fear, a rapid heartbeat, and an inability to lie still or even stand. I felt that if I did not move, it would get worse. It passed after a few days, seemingly on its own.

There was also an episode when I felt that I would not be able to breathe. It sounds ridiculous, but at the time I felt as if I had forgotten how to do it. Again, I ran out of the house into the fresh air and walked back and forth a lot in an attempt to somehow avoid this fear. Of course, I checked everything, from blood tests to a 24-hour cardiac monitor and even a brain MRI. Nothing was found. I came up with the following rule for myself: movement is essential, along with stretching exercises and various exercises for the spine—twists, extensions, and stretches with the arms raised overhead. They say that establishing a regular sleep-wake schedule also helps, but I have not tried it :) There is another interesting detail: recently I looked into what exists on this subject. Apparently, they say that the diagnosis of autonomic dystonia does not exist in the international medical community. However, there is “connective tissue dysplasia.” It is characterized by a genetic mutation in which collagen is not synthesized in the body. As a result, a person’s skeleton develops incorrectly, vision problems and other issues arise. There are also all these problems with the nervous system, including panic attacks, tachycardia, weakness, and muscle pain. On the other hand, there are so many symptoms that, based on them, one might say that every other person has this “ailment.” So it is not that simple either. There are genetic tests that can determine for sure whether you have connective tissue dysplasia, but they are not available merely out of curiosity.

Therefore, I need this practice also because the condition in which the “ground regularly disappears from under my feet” interferes with normal life and work. I want to have more strength and energy for a normal life rather than mere existence. It seems to me that this is exactly what it is—existing—when you have just enough strength to somehow crawl home from work on rubbery legs and collapse onto the sofa. This problem periodically goes away (I am sure my case is not the most severe), but nevertheless I would like to know how to get rid of it permanently. Perhaps I will be able to help others in this way someday as well.

Tell us more.
After all, you didn't decide to learn this special and very simple practice out of idle curiosity.

Why do you need it?

What's happening that made it interesting to you?

How long has the problem existed? Do you notice it in other people? When did you notice it in yourself?

Or are you really prepared to continue living in tension?

For example, even in the Mahapurna school there are people who might answer, "Well, if I have tension, then that's how it should be. If I don't, then I haven't earned it..."

How are you different from such people...

Namaste everyone! I usually try to get enough sleep, exercise regularly, go for walks, and practice the KAY and Ra-Poley energy practices. I spend most of my time in sattva. I feel stable, balanced, and joyful. Once, without noticing, I drifted away from my usual schedule and state: I became more lazy, moved less, and noticed that something was wrong with me specifically in lucid dreaming. I got stuck in a dream "at red-colored doors" and couldn't get out; I felt enclosed and short of breath. I realized I was dreaming and quickly analyzed why it had happened: I needed to wake up and breathe, otherwise it could lead to panic; I needed to return to a life-giving routine. I pinched myself and firmly promised that I would take better care of myself, repeating: "I exist, I remember myself, I am here and now." I was released and managed to walk through the locked doors (and they were red too—that was precisely a signal from my subconscious). In other words, through healthy conscious control, I was able to help myself in the dream.
Once, during a flight, I had a panic attack, before I became acquainted with energy practices. Concentrating on the state of ZiS, naming the objects around me, breathing in a square pattern, and distracting myself from the panic by redirecting my consciousness to another activity helped (for 10 minutes I focused intently on finding an item in my carry-on luggage).
Now I can't always remain alert because of the heat (I live in the south). I often wake up at night, even though I feel calm and go to bed on time. Once the heat subsides, it will be easier.

I wondered: what do I do to relieve tension? And what keeps me tense the most? Evening meditations, preparing for sleep, physical exercise, essential oils, and walks definitely help me relax. But what keeps me tense the most? I have not “come to terms with” the loss of loved ones. This chilling fear, the impossibility of changing anything, helplessness, and despair have become deeply lodged inside me.

Have a good day, everyone!
A state of stress and tension has accompanied me for almost my entire conscious life, for as long as I can remember. I think it is connected with inborn characteristics of the nervous system, subsequent infections, and severe, prolonged stress in life. In my early youth, I had to seek help because I could not cope on my own. This is probably quite common nowadays. Once, my friend said: “There is such a way of responding to life—stress.” She had also encountered all these things back at school. I devoted a great deal of time and attention to various ways of removing all this from my life. I turned to both conventional and alternative medicine. I tried brain synchronization. It helps for a short time, and then everything returns to its usual course. Meditation helps too—but mainly by making it easier to fall asleep in the evening. I often use different types of meditation. Physical exercise helps well: afterward, blood circulation improves, and it becomes easier for a while. A sauna also helps—it combines so many things at once: heat, aromatherapy, water, and living fire. All together, it is wonderful. Entering a theta brainwave state is very effective at reducing anxiety. But then it is difficult to focus on the here and now. Everything happens as if in a dream, and in slow motion—like in dreams.
I became interested in the practice because I would still like to find a way out of the vicious circle of anxiety, which also intensifies tension.
Many years ago, I also began following the advice of a wonderful pediatrician who lived nearby: take a broom or a mop and start cleaning the room energetically)) Afterwards, immerse your arms up to the elbows and your legs up to mid-calf in warm (hot) water. A warm shower is from the same category. Fitness, a short rest, and switching your attention also help.

Веретенников Сергей Веретенников Сергей , good afternoon! I cannot express how grateful I am for such a timely practice. You are simply a magician and wizard in my life. At the beginning of your post, you wrote that you have been helping people for many years. I am sure you have no idea how much your help has actually done. When I first became acquainted with you, about 20 years ago, perhaps a little more, but definitely not less, I became a vegetarian and quit smoking simply by reading your website and doing nothing in particular. It was the magic of your energy; I cannot describe it any other way.
In general, I am not a person who is easily suggestible, but the fact that meeting you just once changed my life so dramatically, and that the power of your conviction made me believe you unconditionally—you also categorically refused to accept any payment back then, which I remember very well—shocked me. You did so much for people selflessly. I simply wanted to share this; perhaps this was not the right place, but once again I could not hold back my admiration for you. You are simply mega-awesome♥

Returning to the subject of tension: many years of constant chronic tension, mostly caused by fears, and an inability to relax led to burnout and, ultimately, panic attacks. As it turns out, they had previously occurred in a mild form, but I did not know how to recognize them until just the other day, when they began manifesting in a severe form and frightened me quite badly. I am very grateful for this material and have no doubt that it will be very useful to me. ♥

I’ll continue, although it isn’t an easy task for me. I don’t talk that much in a whole day, and here I have to write 800 characters.
You already had 800 characters.
Sometimes paying attention also helps prevent overexertion.

Good evening, everyone 🙏 I no longer remember exactly how many years ago it was—perhaps seven years ago—when I could completely relax, completely detach from my body. It was so easy and accessible to me, without any special practices (although this is also a practice). Essentially, I would simply move my attention from my feet up to my head, with a gentle, deliberate intention, saying inwardly that relaxation was spreading through my feet, that my feet were completely relaxed. Then I would move higher through the body, through all the main muscle groups, reaching the muscles of my neck, jaw, face, eyes, and skull. I would become completely immersed in relaxation, detach from my body. The body was relaxed, resting; it was no longer there—total relaxation. Only consciousness remained, not yet asleep, located in the head area within the body, and you understood that the body was relaxed, pressed into the bed. And what next? After that, things happened in different ways. Sometimes I would catch the moment when I seemed to fly upward somewhere at incredible speed. I could somehow feel this flight with my body, and it was as if I were leaving my body, but I could still feel my heartbeat speeding up. Fear would take hold, and I would return to the body, which felt like a tree or a spacesuit, and wonder: what was that? As I understand it, were these some kind of partial astral exits? Sometimes, when lying in bed, I imagined that I was a skeleton and my muscles were water. I imagined the water flowing down under the bed, forming a puddle there: all the muscles had dissolved, the tension and stress had gone—total relaxation. Everything was easy and worked. I cannot say that I achieved any fully developed exits or anything like that, but at least, while remaining conscious and not falling asleep, I could completely relax my entire body and its whole muscular framework. This gave me a positive effect in the morning: my body’s muscles were genuinely rested, something I unfortunately cannot say about these days. Now I practice while lying in bed: self-suggestions for relaxation, affirmations, intentions, visualizations. But I cannot remove the stress that has settled in certain muscle groups and does not want to leave. In particular, when I relax, the neck muscles begin stretching and pulling very strongly, along with the jaw muscles, creating a kind of grimace on my face. I understand that this is probably some kind of emotional blockage stuck in these muscles? I cannot relax my neck or lower-back muscles. In general, I do not yet know the answers to these questions. Lately, things have been rather difficult. The processes seem to be speeding up, and some unresolved issues are coming to the surface, particularly through the muscles and muscular tension. I could share my assumptions at length, but would there be any point? I simply want to relax completely, remove the mind’s limitations, and enter into trust in the universe. I do not know how to put it correctly. Thank you, Sergey Vasilyevich, for your practices, courses, and school 🙏❤

I understand that my muscles do not relax, because even in the morning, when I wake up, I find my shoulders tense and raised toward my head. I also feel chronic tension in my calves.

What can I say about the workday? The other day I snapped at a client—the nerves became too much. On the other hand, there are about three hundred people a day, and snapping for the first time in two years—perhaps that is normal) The question is that the rest of the time I hold myself back, and all the anger and irritation “settle” in my body. I even dream about work; the dreams are quite ordinary. And that is despite the fact that my job is not intellectual right now, but rather a hands-on occupation where I do not have to think. Yet my head is still “cluttered.”
All this only confirms my feeling that the muscles in my body never fully relax.

In the evening, there is breathing, massage, and meditation... I walk to and from work for 35 minutes. Part of the route goes through the countryside—birds, a river... I relax. But I cannot fully let go.
I understand that in this state, astral projection is not in the cards for me. But I really want to)
Deep-level relaxation is important to me!

Has anyone's practice already begun to open up?
So we are waiting for the first reviews; you can write them here as well.

Namaste, everyone! 🙏
I read the students’ descriptions, and you can really see from them how much this practice is needed. It was very interesting to read! (y)
Unfortunately, I won’t be able to tell such an exciting story: I can’t say that I have no stress—it is there, but it is moderate, and thanks to the Your Yoga website and my training at the Mahapurna School, I manage it in time. (Thank you, Teacher 🙏) I also don’t have panic attacks, insomnia, headaches, irrational fears, or sudden anxiety... “Why do you need this practice, then?” you may ask.
As you can see, I am one of those people driven by curiosity—I really want to find out what kind of super-practice is hidden there!! ☺
And yes, there is still one situation when I feel tense: when I do a Tarot Spread for someone and become deeply involved, worry about the person, and fear making a mistake or telling them something incorrectly. In Arcanum (Tarot) practice, being properly relaxed is very important! Excessive emotions and worries deprive you of inner equilibrium and balance, create that very unnecessary stress, and disrupt the state in which information seems to come “from nowhere.” I usually relieve excess tension in my body with breathing practices and Ra-fields. But I would gladly try this new practice myself as well ;)

In addition, relatives, friends, and even strangers often turn to me for help and advice. They, however, frequently suffer from insomnia, pain, tension, and all the symptoms listed above. Of course, I use every means and tool available to me to help them—and not without results. But as Confucius supposedly said, “Give a hungry person a fish, and you feed them for a day. Give them a fishing rod and teach them to fish, and you feed them for a lifetime”... I suppose this practice is that very fishing rod that can and should be given to others, so that I can free up my time for other important matters. It is much better when people do something themselves to save themselves, without relying on someone else’s help, isn’t it?
For these two reasons, I really need this practice :)
