Once there was a young man whose life unfolded under difficult circumstances. His father earned just enough to provide the family with the necessities. Consequently, everything in his life was very poor, but it was enough to survive. When the boy was fourteen, his father was dismissed from his job. Suddenly, the family did not have a morsel of food left. The young man had not yet learned anything with which he could earn money, but he still wanted to help his family. So he took to begging, which was very difficult for him, but in this way he helped his family survive. This continued for several years. When he reached the age of twenty, one of his dreams came true. He felt as though he were in a fairy tale. A family of foreigners met him, grew fond of him, and bought him a car so that, working as a taxi driver, he could support himself. Moreover, every month they sent him enough money to help him overcome the difficulties at the beginning of his new, modest career. Now he was a small entrepreneur. In one leap, he became independent. However, he could not overcome his habit. He was still begging. He still felt like the poorest among the poor. He was still afraid of hunger. He saw money as the solution to all problems. Think about it: life shapes your habits and the habits of others. Habits have a tendency to hold on tightly. Therefore, carefully watch which habits you develop. This means allowing only what is good, useful, and helpful to become a habit. Beware of bad habits; they quickly gain power over your life, and it will be difficult for you to free yourself from them when you eventually want to. At the same time, remember the poor young man if other people's bad habits trouble you: perhaps they experienced difficult circumstances in life that prevent them from changing their habits overnight, even if they wanted to. Bliss awaits you in the heavenly world, but what are you doing? You are trying by every means to cling to this world! There are even people who have themselves frozen because they suffer from an incurable disease and hope to survive in that state. All this happens only because they have become attached to their bodies and the life connected with them, and do not believe in reincarnation—in other words, in My love. The truth is that the earthly world is a testing ground of more or less difficult trials, where you learn love, willingness to sacrifice, service to your fellow human beings, truthfulness, and honesty. Believe Me, the world has no other purpose. Maya (the external world, appearance) makes you seek happiness and fulfillment on Earth and believe that you will find them. Your body alone frustrates your calculations. Through its impermanence and great susceptibility to all possible illnesses, it limits you enormously. But you have become so accustomed to it that you think you must put up with everything just so as not to lose it. What are all these considerations for? What are all these worries about your body for? The only thing that matters is that you live in prema (love), satya (truth), dharma (righteousness), shanti (peace), and ahimsa (nonviolence). Nothing else should concern you. For in every birth I give you precisely the body you are meant to have, so that you may gain your experience on Earth. And be assured: each time, the body is ideal and perfect for everyone.

Again and again, you are at odds with your life and with Me. Then it seems to you that nothing is happening the way you would like. Sometimes it is too slow, sometimes too difficult. You think about how to move farther away from your goal rather than closer to it.
Naturally, it is typical for your life and development to go through phases when you need to examine whether you are on the right path.
But some people doubt so often and so intensely that they need to ask themselves what has happened to them, to their path, and to their development.
If you are repeatedly at odds with yourself, God, and the world, sit down somewhere peaceful—perhaps by your altar—and ask yourself whether you have truly decided to achieve your goal.
If you have to acknowledge that it is not clear to you, take a step back and ask yourself whether you even know what you want—in other words, what you are seeking.
In order to find something, first of all you need to know what you are looking for.
Your goal must be clear to you for you to be able to see it at all.
And you need to decide that you want to achieve it.
If you do not meet these two initial conditions, all your efforts lose their meaning and significance in the long term, because you are not creating and cannot create the energy needed to achieve what you have chosen as your goal.
Or, in other words: how do you expect to prepare for a journey if you do not know where you are goingto go, nor how long it will last, nor how far it is, nor what kind of weather awaits you there, and whether you even want to be there at all.
Clarify your goal and gain clarity about your decision; only then can God bless you with the strength and endurance necessary for your journey.

Arjuna asked Krishna: "One time You say that we should renounce all karmas (actions), and another time You say that we should practice karma yoga. So tell me, which of these two paths is better?" Krishna replied: "Both paths—sannyasa and karma yoga—lead you to the same goal: liberation, O Arjuna! But know this: Performing work brings greater joy than renouncing it. A true ascetic (sannyasin) is one who has neither desire nor hatred for anything. The word sannyasa can also apply to work performed without thoughts of success or failure, gain or loss, honour or dishonour—any activity carried out as an offering to the Lord.
Simple inactivity, proclaimed through saffron robes and a shaven head, is not renunciation at all. To deserve this name, one must free oneself from the duality of joy and sorrow, good and evil. Therefore, instead of renouncing activity, it is better to renounce its fruits. This also brings greater joy. This is the best path.

Gayatri is the Mother of all Sacred Scriptures (the Vedas). She exists wherever Her name is uttered. She is very powerful. Gayatri is the One who nourishes every living being. She grants pure thoughts to everyone who worships Her. She is the embodiment of all Goddesses. Our very breath is Gayatri; our faith in existence is Gayatri. Gayatri has five faces, which are the five vital principles. She has nine descriptions: “Om, Bhur, Bhuvah, Svah, Tat, Savitur, Varenyam, Bhargo, Devasya.” Mother Gayatri nourishes and protects every living being, and She guides our senses in the right direction. “Dhimahi” means meditation. We pray to Her to grant us good intellect. “Dhiyo Yonah Prachodayat”—we pray to Her to grant us everything necessary. Thus, Gayatri is a universal prayer for protection, support, and ultimately liberation.

Love, that is, the Self, gives and forgives.
The ego, by contrast, takes and forgets.
Love and forgiveness are the essence of all relationships.
Making mistakes is part of the process of human lessons. The same applies to relationships.
Therefore, without forgiveness, relationships cannot survive.
I can even put it the other way around: mistakes in relationships arise so that you may learn to open your heart.
If you truly look back, you will admit that you make precisely the mistakes you need for your development.
Therefore, always look at what you receive, and understand that what you receive is many times greater than what you see.
Always remember that contentment belongs to the Self, while discontent belongs to the ego.
The larger your ego, therefore, the more difficult your life becomes—and especially your death.
Therefore, always regard discontent as a warning signal indicating that you absolutely need to do something; in most cases, this means that you need to change your attitude.
The truth is that there is no basis whatsoever for discontent—except that you do not see how much you take and how much you forget.
Give and be content, and then the flow, life, and love will be yours.

November is known as the month when fog appears. The atmosphere cools. The warm earth releases vapor. Fog forms.
Try, as far as possible, not to let fog enter your life, and if it does happen, make an effort to dispel it.
What is the best remedy against fog? Viveka (the power of discrimination) and dharma (justice).
If you have both, then sooner or later you will automatically also attain satya (truth), prema (love), shanti (peace), and ahimsa (nonviolence).
Then not only does the initial fog dissipate, but you now stand in radiant light.
Study the sacred books. Master this lesson with viveka and apply it in your actions through dharma.
Make your life a flower whose stem is viveka, whose bud is dharma, and whose fragrance is prema.
These virtues give your life not only radiance; they are also its most reliable refuge.
The Pandavas embodied divine virtues in their lives. Therefore, Krishna could be with them, guide and protect them, and ensure their victory over their enemies—the Kauravas.
If the Pandavas had not observed dharma and all the other virtues, they would have had to experience the full power of the Kauravas; Krishna could not have helped them, and they would have been defeated.
Stay together with God—that is, with the power within you that you can develop through right actions—and no matter how hopeless the situation may seem, victory will be on your side, because knowledge and virtue are already victory.
Everything else is only a matter of karma and time.

A person who seeks support in the mind becomes worse than an animal.
A person who relies on the intellect (Buddhi) is transformed
into God.
What is Buddhi?
Buddhi is the intellect marked by Good Sense and the ability
to Discern.
It is higher than the mind but lower than the higher "Self."
Being close to the Atman, however, it enjoys its Light. One who has realized the Atman is one who follows the intellect in Life, relying on its ability to Discern.

OUR DESTINY IS CONNECTED WITH OUR THOUGHTS

When good thoughts, good feelings, and good intentions prevail, the mind becomes pure. Only with a pure mind can actions and their fruits be pure.
Today we sow the seed of thoughts—the karma—and reap the fruits of actions. From the seed of karma grows svabhava (the fruit of conduct). From the seed of conduct comes the fruit of character. The seed of character produces the fruit of adrishtam (destiny). Thus, one can trace the stages of human progress—from thought to destiny. In this way, our successes and failures are connected with our thoughts. A mind filled with bad thoughts plunges a person into impenetrable darkness. That same mind can elevate a person to unattainable heights through good thoughts. Therefore, thoughts are of immense importance to a person. They constitute his Life Breath. Without understanding this, a person allows bad tendencies such as anger, envy, hatred, and vanity to fill his mind and brings misfortune upon himself.
A person who seeks to cause pain to others cherishes many bad thoughts in his mind. But these thoughts harm him ten times more than he harms those around him. He does not know this truth. He gives himself over to offending and harming others. But there are no “others”; everyone is a manifestation of God. Failing to recognize the Divine in other people, a person tries to harm them. But whoever raises the sword against others dies by the sword. The harm he inflicts on others will return to him. Whoever hurts others will himself become a target of hurt. As the thoughts are, so is the result. A person’s entire existence is based on thoughts and their results.

Everything is one, everyone is equal, everyone is perfect. Always think about this. Never forget it.
Everything foreign, incomprehensible, or even evil that you think you notice in others is merely a layer superimposed upon them. In reality, it is nothing more than an appearance that, of course, makes you act. But only because you are still entangled in it.
An important teacher in these matters is death, which you fear so greatly. You have already experienced it so many times. But maya (the external world, appearance) demands that you fear it. This is just as it should be from the perspective of life. If you were not afraid of death, you would seek refuge in it at the slightest difficulty and would learn nothing.
Death is important for many reasons. First of all, it ends situations in which you would otherwise accumulate a great deal of negative karma. Secondly, it takes away your old garment and gives you the opportunity to receive a new one.
Thirdly, death is an important teacher.
Death teaches you that you are all equal, that in reality no one is either better or worse. You have all been chosen by Me. I do not single anyone out. This does not mean that I am not different for each of you.
You see, this is the miracle of life: you are all the same. You will all have to die. But each person has their own life, and it is unique. And every life is magic. Therefore, look upon death more calmly, with greater confidence. I am always with you. Either after death you enter into Me, or you will have to be born again. And rest assured that I will give you exactly the kind of life that fully corresponds to you.
Sai Baba

SWAMI SAYS: On the day of Deepavali, we light many lamps from a single candle. The Light with which the other lamps are lit is a symbol of the Divine *.

The other lamps are jivanajyoti (individual lights). They draw their light from the One Supreme Light. The Festival of Light is celebrated to teach people this truth.
According to the legend, Krishna killed Narakasura with the help of Satyabhama. What does this mean? Each of us must fight and destroy the demonic forces within ourselves, resorting to Sathi (Truth). “Satyameva Jayate” proclaims the Upanishad (“Truth alone triumphs”). “Speak the truth” is a Vedic injunction. Once, the Earth Goddess came to Vishnu and lamented that she could bear any burden, but not the burden of carrying those who indulge in falsehood.

We must be prepared to make any sacrifice in order to uphold the Truth. This is the lesson taught by Harishchandra, who sacrificed his kingdom, wife, and son for the sake of a promise he had given. He stands out as the supreme champion of Truth.
Everyone should strive to adhere to the Truth. Truth is God. With faith in God and adherence to the Truth, all demonic forces can be defeated.

The body is impermanent. Therefore, do not attach great importance to deha (the physical body). What is important is dehi (the Indweller). He alone is the embodiment of Truth. To treat the Indweller with disdain is to make a grave mistake. If you trust the Indweller and rely on Him, He will take care of everything. We should never forget dehi (the Indweller), who is niramaya (free from all diseases).

The world is a continuous spectacle in which people with different views of life take part. There are people who always appear calm, and people who are always full of sorrow. There are people who express both joy and sorrow, but there are also those who, having surrendered themselves to divine love, constantly remain in bliss. What is the reason for such different states of human beings? The reason lies in the mind.
Within a human being are the demon, the animal, the human being, and the Divine—and this is the reason; but the main source of these states is the mind.
Only in a human being are “Human-Divine,” “Human-human,” “Human-demon,” and “Human-animal” united.
All these states are deeply rooted in the human mind.
It is said: brahmanishtha paro devah (one who abides in Brahman is the Supreme Deity).
Once established in divine consciousness, performing actions and fulfilling duties that bring joy to God, a divine person sees the Divine everywhere. For such a person, all forms and beings appear as reflections of the divine principle, and he spends his life in joy, enchanted by God.

RENUNCIATION

According to one of the important Vedic mantras, immortality of the soul can be attained only through renunciation (Tyaga), and not merely by performing good deeds, bringing offspring into the world, increasing one’s wealth, and so on.
But what does this renunciation really mean?
It certainly does not mean that one must give up one’s family and children, home, or all one’s possessions and prosperity.
What, then, should one renounce?
What is the bondage from which a person must be freed?
It lies in the illusion of identifying oneself with the body. A person must rid themselves of the false idea that they are the body and embrace the idea that they are the Atman. Only then will you attain Liberation (Moksha). Renunciation of identifying yourself as the body (Deha virakthi) will free you from the sorrow of physical bondage, while the power of devotion to God (Daiva Aashakthi) will bring you the bliss and rapture of Liberation and union with Him.
How can one free oneself from the illusion of identifying oneself as the body (Deha-branthi)? Certainly not by abstaining from drinking and eating, reducing the poor body to a skeletal state, and flirting with death, but by persistently affirming, supported by firm faith: "I am not the body. My body, senses, intellect, and spiritual intelligence are merely my instruments (Upadhis)."
You must rid yourself of the idea of identifying yourself with the body, just as you would cast off a dirty garment.

The peoples and governments of the world need to fundamentally rethink their way of thinking. Positive national feelings and brotherly and sisterly relationships among people on a global scale must be strengthened.
National feelings guided by heart and ethics are important for every country, because people need a refuge where they feel safe and which they protect.
Impersonal communal life is the cause of countless problems that must be overcome.
National consciousness is fostered by customs, traditional clothing, songs, festivals, and many other things that express the diversity of the divine in the world.
But national thinking must be completely connected with the heart, reason, and ethics; otherwise, it leads to catastrophe.
Foreigners should be respected just as the local population is—even when they remain outsiders. Toward outsiders, one should behave with at least the same respect and friendliness as toward the local population—it is truly unfortunate that I have to emphasize this obvious fact.
Every citizen must clearly realize that there is unity among all people of all countries. Do not think that this is a utopia. Begin practicing this way of thinking today and putting it into action. Because I want you to be in the new world that I will create.

Live in such a way that the Lord comes and says: "I Love you",
"I cannot live without you", "You are Mine".
Of course, God Loves everyone, and everyone belongs to God.
And naturally, He can manage without anyone at all.
He is capable of moving mountains.
He can Create miracles.
But the greatest miracle is your complete surrender to His Grace.
Becoming His instrument does not mean handing out sweets and
gingerbread at every street corner.
Belonging to Me completely, without reservation, means that sometimes
you will do work you do not like and
perform actions you cannot understand.
There is no need to understand anything.
Just Believe in Me.
Be Calm, I will do Everything in the best possible way.

Sathya Sai Baba.

People travel a great deal nowadays. The benefit of this is that there is a great exchange, stimulated even further by the mass media—an exchange that, in such volume, would not have occurred even to the boldest science-fiction writers in earlier centuries. Alongside the obvious benefits, among which greater understanding between peoples is by no means the least, there are also considerable losses. Germans, for example, travel to Thailand, meet a partner there—in most cases, women whom they choose—and return to Germany with them. Of course, this is not limited to Germans. Japanese travel to Italy, Indians to England, and French people to Canada. The possibilities are endless. As a result, people lose their roots and cultures dissolve. I support limiting countries, provinces, towns, and cities. I support preserving the individuality of each such territory. Diversity is divinity. Therefore, I also advocate a society made up of different strata. In Western countries, you abolished the various classes because the upper classes exploited and despised the lower classes and denied them any rights. Such a division of society is godless, and it must be brought to an end. I base this on the reality that people are at different stages of development. Therefore, those who are higher should care for those who are lower, as a father cares for his children. The higher are responsible for the well-being of society. This should be their first civic duty. But today, none of them feels responsible. A person in a position of authority can do more or less and allow themselves anything they want, and the greatest risk they face is simply not being re-elected. Under such circumstances, a society consisting of all kinds of classes is genuine hell. But I want to bring heaven to Earth to the greatest extent possible. I want everyone to be in the place where they can develop according to their abilities; I want those who hold power to be friends to those who have none. I want the rich to care for the poor. I will not rest until this happens.

Freedom from Unpleasant Thoughts and Emotions
Very good practices, meditations, and exercises. I especially liked the meditation "Connecting with the Inner Light." A cosmic aftertaste and universal harmony.

"Imagination lays the tracks along which the train of reality will travel"—that is precisely how the favorite saying of this book’s author goes.
A talented psychotherapist and practicing shaman, Sandra Ingerman has been helping people overcome depression and psychological crises for many years through focused work with the energy of thoughts and emotions.
In this book, she offers simple methods that will teach you to cleanse your living space day by day of hatred, malice, fear, and anger, and fill it with the energy of compassion, love, and creation.

They drain your energy, reduce productivity, cloud your mind, and keep you from enjoying life. Such are mental traps. Even the most intellectual among us fall victim to them from time to time.
From now on, you will be able to avoid them and enjoy life and your own successes. The author analyzes the eleven most common traps. These include: persistence—the unwillingness to give up a useless task; amplification—the syndrome of "killing a fly with a sledgehammer"; reversion—the "if only" disease; and resistance—the disorder known as "just a little more." The audiobook "Mental Traps" will help you free yourself from exhausting situations and wasted time and achieve ever-new successes every day.
Ooh! This is exactly what I need. I can feel that a lot of energy is slipping away. Thank you
