Good afternoon!
3 cycles of 30 breaths, CP 120 sec.
I have been breathing while sitting for the second day; before that, I practiced lying down. Yesterday, my body sat up by itself—and even into the Lotus position) It feels absolutely wonderful! After the 3rd cycle, I switch to Buteyko breathing and practice: I hardly inhale, but exhale more, and then enter meditation. Today, during the 3rd retention, something like a flash occurred. Buteyko called it the Holy Spirit; I don't know, but the feeling was wonderful!) Thank you, Teacher
Yesterday was a very difficult day. I was extremely nervous from the morning, running errands all day, and by evening I had no energy left to breathe.
I thought that, because of all this, my retention would be lower today. But strangely enough, the opposite happened: my body seemed to want and expect me to do the breathing practice! During the practice, it felt as though something had been released (yesterday's stress?). A deep relaxation came over me. During the 2nd and 3rd retentions, I almost fell asleep (even though I was still not breathing!) In other words, my brain stopped controlling the retention altogether, leaving the stopwatch fully responsible for the technical side of things. My sense of time changed: during the retentions, it seemed to me that a minute had passed, at most a minute and a half, while the stopwatch showed much more. I even managed to see the beginning of some kind of dream once: I was looking at an unfamiliar urban landscape from a bird's-eye view, in a different season from the current one. I almost flew off to explore the area and began examining the details, when suddenly a sobering thought came: "Don't sleep! You're practicing!"—and everything immediately disappeared
And then I discovered that I still wasn't breathing... An unusual experience for me
I'm joining the "Wim Hof for Beginners" Intensive.
I am not a beginner. I have been practicing Wim Hof breathing since I first heard about it from OM Shanti and on the internet. But I don't practice consistently, only in periods. That is, I practice for several months, then stop for several months.
During periods of practice, I reached a point where I began to "want" to breathe this way, and I really enjoy the long retention—up to 3 cycles of 30 breaths with a 3-minute retention. And I feel very good immediately afterward; physically, it feels as though my body is healing. My immune system is definitely getting stronger.
Day 1.
In the morning
2 cycles of 30 breaths
Retention: 2 min 15 sec
In the evening
2 cycles of 30 breaths
Retention: 1 min 48 sec
3 cycles of 30 breaths
Retentions: 1 min, 1 min 15 sec, 1 min 45 sec.
I practiced irregularly.
After the long retention, my state changes. It is amazing, and I want to remain in it. I will try to practice regularly.
